Ajman University Moves Up to #27 in QS Arab Region Rankings 2023

Ajman University has moved up 3 places since last year in the QS Arab Region Rankings 2023 and is now ranked #27 overall. Since 2017, AU has gained a total of 34 places! AU is also ranked #1 in both International Students and International Faculty (ranked last year as #2 and #9, respectively). We are now officially the most diverse, inclusive, and global institution in the entire Arab Region. Read more

Ajman University Faculty Members Recognized among Top 2% Global Scientists by Stanford University

Ajman University is proud to acknowledge that 10 of our faculty members have been recognized among the top 2% scientists in the world by Stanford University. The AU faculty members were included in Stanford University's recently updated database of top-cited scientists across the world. Significantly, 4 out of the 10 faculty members were also recognized for their long-term performance and careerlong research impact, in addition to single year research impact. Read more

Ajman University's Bachelor of Architecture Program Earns 5-Year Unconditional Revalidation from UIA-UNESCO

The Bachelor of Architecture Program at Ajman University (AU) has earned 5-year unconditional revalidation from UNESCO-UIA, the International Union of Architects. Ajman University is the only university in the GCC countries - and one of only 3 universities in the entire Arab region - to achieve this highly coveted accreditation in the field of architecture. Ajman University Renews MoU with PwC Academy

As part of its efforts to provide its students with the latest and most industry-relevant learning, Ajman University (AU) has renewed its partnership with PwC Academy, one of the largest training providers across the Middle East in developing young professionals into successful business leaders. The MoU focuses on enhancing AU students' skills in diverse areas such as Finance, Tax, HR, Marketing, Management, Leadership, Strategy and Digital Transformation. Read more

Ajman University and Coursera Enter Partnership Aimed at Enhancing Employability of AU Students

Ajman University (AU) has tied-up with Coursera, a global online learning platform, with the aim of enhancing the employability skills of its students and offering them a range of real-world, industry-aligned courses and certifications. The partnership between the two organizations will provide AU students access to advanced courses and job-relevant credentials including professional certificates from industry leaders, through Coursera's Career Academy. Ajman University Granted Eligibility Status by WASC Accreditation

Ajman University (AU) has been granted Eligibility status by the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) in the United States. WSCUC accreditation aids institutions in developing and sustaining effective educational programs and assures the educational community and the general public that an accredited institution has met high standards of quality and effectiveness. To earn Eligibility status with this rigorous and prestigious commission is a testament to AU's integrity and values. Read more

Ajman University's Research Output Shows Remarkable Growth in 2022

Ajman University's (AU) research output has witnessed remarkable growth in 2022, with indexed research papers increasing from 611 in 2021 to 947 in 2022, representing a 55% year-on-year growth. Since 2017, AU's research output has grown exponentially, with a 25-fold increase in the number of indexed research papers. In 2022, almost 50% of AU's papers were published in Q1 journals, an increase of around 86% since 2021, proving its not just the quantity but also the quality of research papers by AU that has witnessed spectacular growth. Ajman University Bags Prestigious Ellucian Institutional Growth Award

Ajman University has landed the well-known “Institutional Growth Award” from Ellucian for its outstanding use of technology in 2022 to transform and enhance the digital experience of students, faculty, and staff members. The award represents global recognition to organizations leading the higher education digital transformation movement and was granted for our agile transformation strategy that included the CRM Recruit solution and the Mobile App. Read more

Hamdan Innovation Incubator Recognizes Ajman University as a Certified Business Incubator

Ajman University Innovation Centre (AUIC) has been granted the Certified Business Incubator recognition by Hamdan Innovation Incubator (Hi2), a unique government-backed initiative by Dubai SME aimed at accelerating innovation in the UAE. AUIC will be the first Certified Incubator by Hi2 outside of Dubai. AUIC will focus on best practices followed globally to encourage innovation, with students, start-ups, and external entrepreneurs standing to benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure and other related facilities, including common workspaces and incentives to launch their projects. Ajman University Inaugurates Healthcare Simulation and Clinical Competence Center

The College of Medicine at Ajman University (AU) has launched a Healthcare Simulation and Clinical Competence Center (HSCCC), doubling the number of physicians, nurses and students who will be able to practice their skills in a state-of-the-art learning environment. The new 220 square meter center, located in the College of Medicine, aims to be the most advanced center of excellence in clinical competency development in the region. Read more

Ajman University Signs MoU with Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions

Ajman University (AU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tahaluf Al Emarat Technical Solutions, an innovative industry leader providing modern and advanced IT solutions locally and internationally. The MoU is aimed at establishing a successful long-term partnership between the two parties in the new edge technologies space and finding value-creation opportunities for students. As per the MoU, both parties will collaborate in developing and delivering real-world training programs and initiatives for AU students. Read more

Ajman University's College of Business Administration Earns AACSB Accreditation

Ajman University College of Business Administration has received the prestigious AACSB International accreditation, one of the largest and most specialized business-school accreditations in the academic world. Less than 6 percent of the world's business schools hold AACSB accreditation. AU is now 1 of only 10 universities in the UAE – and only 1 of 5 with a doctorate program – to claim this distinction. Stevens Initiative Grants Funding to Ajman University for Innovative Virtual Exchange Program

Stevens Initiative announced that Ajman University is one its newest grantees to receive funding for virtual exchanges between young people in the United States and the Middle East and North Africa. Ajman University's Actualizing Youth Mobility to Lead and Innovate in the 21st Century is one of four new Stevens Initiative-funded exchanges. Funding has been awarded to select institutions based in the UAE, including Ajman University, for virtual exchanges that will give young people experiential learning opportunities to explore topics impacting their local and global communities. Ajman University Students Benefit from International Exchanges with Leading Global Universities

Ajman University students from the College of Medicine and the College of Engineering & Information Technology were provided internship opportunities at leading global partner institutions as part of AU's International Academic Exchange Program. The internships were aimed at enhancing AU students' global exposure and international research participation. Institutions that the AU students interned at included Yale University in USA, UC Louvain in Belgium, and Universiti of Malaya in Malaysia. Read more

Ajman University Vice Chancellor Participates in Times Higher Education MENA Universities Summit

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Ajman University Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs participated in The Times Higher Education (THE) MENA Universities Summit held in Kuwait from November 28-30, 2022. Prof. Khaled was a speaker in the session titled ‘How has the digital revolution helped pave the way for lifelong learning in the MENA region,' in which he shared interesting insights on the topic. The THE MENA Universities Summit 2022 focused on how universities can best collaborate with partners to identify and address skills gaps, as well as secure human resources for the future growth and development of the region. Ajman University Strengthens Ties with Leading Universities in Pakistan

With a view at strengthening academic and research ties with overseas universities, Ajman University Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Khaled Assaleh and Dean of Research & Graduate Studies, Prof. Kamran Arshad visited three top QS-ranked universities in Pakistan. The universities they visited include Quaid-i-Azam University, National University of Sciences & Technology and COMSATS University. Read more

AU Faculty Member Visits University of Glasgow on Research Grant

Dr. Alexander M Luke, Assistant Professor at Ajman University's College of Dentistry was awarded a research travel grant by Ajman University. The grant was awarded to visit University of Glasgow to facilitate ongoing research between Ajman university and University of Glasgow for developing AI-based dental solutions. The research is funded by Ajman university. Read more

Chancellor Highlights Ajman University's Social Impact at AACSB EMEA Conference in Amsterdam

Ajman University Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir was recently invited to speak at the AACSB EMEA Conference in Amsterdam, focused on change and innovation across business schools in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region. At the Conference, Chancellor Seghir presented on ‘Strengthening Societal Impact' and how Ajman University is leading by example in this all-important development area for higher education institutions. Ajman University Participates in COP27 Egypt as Part of High-Level UAE Delegation

In line with our commitment to delivering climate action goals consistent with AU Climate and Sustainability Strategy 2022-2030, the UAE Green Agenda and the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Ajman University (AU) participated in COP27, the global climate change conference held in November 2022 in Sharm El-Sheikh Egypt. AU was part of a high-level delegation led by the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment that represented UAE at the Conference. The participation of Ajman University in COP27 has showcased the role of the University as a higher education institution, proactive in tackling climate change and advocating environmental sustainability. Ajman University joins the renowned United Nation's Higher Education Sustainability Initiative

Ajman University (AU) has joined the United Nations Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI). The initiative is an open partnership between several United Nations entities and the global higher education community, launched in 2012 with the purpose of highlighting the critical role that higher education plays in achieving sustainable development. As a member, AU will seek to play an active role in the various global action groups dedicated to supporting SDG integration into curricula, research, and campus practices. Read more

Ajman University Commits to Reverse Biodiversity Decline Through Worldwide Nature Positive Alliances

Ajman University has joined the Nature Positive Universities Alliance, launched at the UN Biodiversity Conference (COP15) on December 8, 2022 in Montreal, Canada. Led by the University of Oxford and the UN Environment Program (UNEP), the Nature Positive Universities Alliance is a global network of universities that have made an official pledge to work towards preventing and reversing nature loss by addressing their own environmental impact and restoring ecosystems harmed by their activities. Ajman University’s Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center Registers Significant Achievements in 2022

Ajman University’s Humanities and Social Sciences Research Center (HSSRC) launched in late 2021 completed a year of existence with several achievements to its credit, including various distinguished publications, events, awards, international collaborations, and scholar exchanges. HSSRC was established to research and propose solutions to important societal issues in the Emirati and global societies. The Center aims to promote innovative research, develop new generations of social scientists, deepen how inquiry is practiced within and across disciplines and mobilize important knowledge on pressing community issues in the UAE and abroad. Ajman University Signs Memorandum of Understanding with NAFIS

Ajman University signed a memorandum of understanding with NAFIS, the federal program that supports the participation of UAE nationals in the workforce, primarily in the private sector. Under the agreement, NAFIS will offer students paid scholarships at AU, in addition to advanced training programs, access to labs & workshops and help of specialized professionals to assist them in reaching the benchmark competency level. Embracing Diversity is Something We can Learn from UAE and Ajman University

Fulbright Scholar Dr. Rahul Verma from the University of Houston Downtown (UHD) in USA joined Ajman University (AU) as a Visiting Professor and Research Scholar. Dr. Verma is the only Fulbright Scholar to have travelled to UAE in 2022 on a research grant under the prestigious U.S. government-sponsored Fulbright Scholarship program. Dr. Verma spoke about his myriad reflections on the UAE, research collaborations, and what the USA and UAE could learn from each other. Read more

Ajman University Mobile Dental Clinic Visits Seniors in Dubai

As part of its service to the community and recognizing the importance of making access to oral health care convenient for everyone, particularly seniors, Ajman University (AU) organized free dental check-ups and treatments for senior citizens at the Seniors Happiness Center in Dubai. Since 2018, AU's mobile dental clinic has been an important oral health resource for the community, providing quality dental care from specialists to around 2500 citizens and residents annually all over the UAE. Ajman University Partners with Aspire to Launch the Social Leadership Program for Students and Alumni

Ajman University (AU) has partnered with Aspire Training Solutions to launch the Social Leadership Program for students and alumni of AU. The aim of the initiative is to generate and transfer knowledge related to social leadership by empowering and inspiring a deep and lasting transformation in the lives of AU students and alumni to live, lead and prosper.
