Ajman University hosted its Convocation Ceremony for the 2026–2027 academic year at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions, marking the beginning of a new chapter in students’ academic journeys and welcoming them into a diverse university community of more than 8,500 students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. The ceremony introduced new students and their parents to university life, academic opportunities, student services, and career development, while encouraging them to actively engage in campus life and make the most of their university experience.

Ajman University Launches Doctoral Student Fellowship to Empower Emirati Talent in Higher Education and Research

Ajman University has launched the Ajman University Doctoral Student Fellowship to empower Emirati talent and prepare the next generation of academics in higher education and research. Starting in 2026, the fellowship will sponsor four Emirati master’s graduates annually to pursue full-time PhD studies in Artificial Intelligence, Business Administration, and Law, covering full tuition fees and providing a monthly stipend of AED 8,000. The initiative supports the University’s Faculty Emiratization Strategy (2026–2031) and strengthens its commitment to developing national talent and advancing the UAE’s knowledge-based economy.

Ajman University has launched the "Ta'al Ajman" campaign to position Ajman as a top global destination for higher education and quality of life, aligned with Ajman Vision 2030's goals for knowledge, innovation, and sustainable development. The campaign is built on the idea that choosing a university means choosing a home, highlighting the Emirate's safety, modern infrastructure, cultural diversity, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. “Ta’al Ajman” reflects AU's role in shaping both student experience and the future of the city by showcasing Ajman's strengths while strengthening its global standing.

Ajman University Contributes to Global Dialogue on the Future of Higher Education at QS Africa Forum 2026

Ajman University participated in the QS Africa Forum 2026 in Addis Ababa, which brought together university leaders, policymakers, and industry partners to explore how Africa can strengthen its higher education systems and develop future-ready talent. Representing the University, Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, joined the panel discussion, "Skills at Scale: Micro-Credentials, Lifelong Learning and Employability," where he examined how higher education institutions can move beyond the traditional degree model by adopting flexible, skills-based learning pathways that respond to the evolving needs of the labour market. The discussion also highlighted the importance of stronger employer collaboration and work-integrated learning in enhancing graduate employability and building more agile education systems. The forum further explored key themes including internationalisation, artificial intelligence in higher education, research collaboration, and institutional strategy, underscoring the vital role universities play in advancing sustainable economic and social development.

Ajman University College of Medicine Student Kasvi Raheja Wins Excellent Proposal Award

Ajman University first-year medical student Kasvi Raheja received the Excellent Proposal Award (2nd Category) at the Global Development Public Policy Youth Innovation Contest (GDPPYI), organized under UNITAR. Selected among 15 finalist teams from around 866 applicants worldwide, Kasvi and her team developed the Cultural Data Protection and Compliance Framework (CDPCF), a policy framework designed to protect UAE Nabati poetry from being used as AI training data without consent or attribution. The proposal introduces measures including a cultural registry, machine-readable cultural use labels, compliance requirements for AI developers, creator councils, and mechanisms for auditing and benefit-sharing. The project combines cultural heritage protection, AI governance, and international legal frameworks.

The Office of Student Life Hosts Open House Fall 2026 

The Office of Student Life organized the OSL Open House Fall 2026 to welcome new students to the Ajman University family in a vibrant and engaging atmosphere, while introducing them to the Office of Student Life and its role in helping students develop their skills, personality, and mindset alongside their academic journey. The event featured performances from different student groups, including a karate performance by the Sports Section, cultural performances by the Sudanese and Jordanian Cultural Clubs, a traditional Dabka show, and student singing from the Music Section.

H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court, honored Ajman University with the Community Impact Medal – Platinum Category, awarded by Majra – National CSR Fund.

Ajman University is the only higher education institution to receive the highest tier of this prestigious federal recognition, which honors organizations demonstrating excellence in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices, advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and creating measurable, sustainable impact aligned with the UAE's national priorities.

Ajman University has launched its participation in the Ajman Government’s Our Happy Summer 2026 program through interactive activities promoting creativity, health awareness, and lifelong learning among school students and community members.

The College of Architecture, Art and Design Summer Camp offered hands-on workshops in architecture, art, and design, fostering innovation, imagination, and design thinking. The College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences organized the Healthy Behaviors Corner: Healthy Summer... Thriving Community, covering healthy summer practices, disease prevention, hydration, and general wellbeing. Meanwhile, the Library hosted Innovation Through Reading, inspiring a love of reading and demonstrating how knowledge and creativity can drive innovation through engaging activities for different age groups.

The College of Dentistry Supports Children with Cancer at Mediclinic City Hospital Dubai

The College of Dentistry participated in a special support initiative for children battling cancer at Mediclinic City Hospital Dubai, led by Dr. Mawada Abdelmagied. The initiative focused on providing emotional support, encouragement, and meaningful interactions for children and their families through engaging activities designed to create moments of joy, hope, and connection.

The Office of Community Engagement Launches “Bil Afiyah Alaikum” Initiative at Saif Salim Alshamsi Mosque

The Office of Community Engagement, in collaboration with Al Ihsan Charity Association, launched the “Bil Afiyah Alaikum” initiative through which volunteers distributed 1,000 meals to people at Saif Salim Alshamsi Mosque in Al Hamidiya, Ajman. The initiative aimed to promote community engagement, kindness, and the spirit of giving.

The Office of Human Resources, in collaboration with the Office of Student Life, organized AU Summer Pulse, a summer program for the children of Ajman University employees. As part of Fall 2026 Orientation Week, Masar Career Excellence welcomed new Ajman University students to the interactive workshop, “Find Your Superpower: Create Your Stand-Out Story.” The session helped students identify their strengths, connect them to real experiences, and build confidence in introducing themselves. Through interactive activities, peer engagement, and the Stand-Out Challenge, students developed communication skills, made new connections, and explored how their university experiences can support their future career development.

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Hosts “Nursing Preceptor Workshop - 2026” to Strengthen Clinical Education and Workforce Readiness

The Office of Experiential Learning at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences hosted the Nursing Preceptor Workshop 2026, bringing together preceptors from partner healthcare institutions to strengthen clinical education and students’ career readiness. The workshop covered Fall 2026 experiential learning, preceptor roles, student assessment, and clinical training, while gathering feedback to align students’ skills with the evolving needs of the healthcare sector.

The Office of Sustainability Empowers Youth Through Interactive Sustainability Workshops

The Office of Sustainability, in collaboration with Ajman Youth Hub and UAE Summer, organized three interactive workshops aimed at empowering youth with sustainability knowledge and encouraging positive environmental action. The workshops included “From Idea to Impact: How Youth Build a Better Future,” “Living Sustainably, Building the Future,” and “Rooted in Community, Protecting Our Mangrove Guardian,” focusing on innovation, sustainable lifestyles, and mangrove conservation. The workshops were delivered by Maya Haddad, Senior Sustainability Manager; Rami Elhadi, Sustainability Coordinator; Fatima Alali, Sustainability Officer; and Duaa Rafiq Al-Alimi, Sustainability Ambassador.
