Scheduled to commence later this spring, the platform will bring senior leaders from government, business, and industry to the University for advanced executive learning designed around the realities of leadership in the UAE. The initiative introduces a distinctive model of executive education grounded in global best practices while responding directly to the local leadership needs, positioning AU among the emerging centers of executive learning in the UAE and the wider region. |

Ajman University welcomed a delegation of Polish engineers who met with Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Dean of Student Services and Associate Professor at the College of Architecture, Art and Design, to explore opportunities for future collaboration. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange perspectives on student engagement and international cooperation, while also discussing potential areas of collaboration, including the introduction of a proposed Sculpture and Arts program. Dr. Dalia Hafiz Receives Support Under the First Cycle of the Modern Heritage Research Grants Program |

Dr. Dalia Hafiz, Assistant Professor at the College of Architecture, Art and Design, has received support under the first cycle of the Modern Heritage Research Grants Program, organized by the UAE Ministry of Culture and Zayed University in partnership with the National CSR Fund “Majra.” Her project, Humanizing Urban Heritage: Revitalizing Al-Satwa through Human-Centered Design (Streets of Memory), examines the urban and architectural heritage of Dubai’s Al-Satwa neighborhood and explores ways to revitalize it through a human-centered design approach. |

Alaa Al Amiry Presents Patented Healthcare Metric at International Conference |

|
|
Alaa Al Amiry, Senior Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences, participated in the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland’s 45th Annual International Conference in Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education, held in Dublin, Ireland. During the conference, Al Amiry presented a newly patented metric titled “Years of Service Lost (YSL),” developed in collaboration with Dr. Sahel Alrousan, Senior Economic Advisor at the Ministry of Finance. The YSL framework introduces an innovative approach to assessing workforce impact within healthcare systems, contributing to ongoing discussions on sustainability and long-term planning in the sector. The presentation marked the first introduction of the metric at an international academic and professional forum, generating engagement and constructive feedback from researchers, policymakers, and practitioners. |

Students explored the therapeutic impact of reading on psychological well-being during a webinar delivered by Dr. Othman Al Fuqaha, Assistant Professor at the College of Humanities and Sciences. The session showed how books can support emotional resilience, improve mental health, and encourage personal growth. The webinar was held during UAE National Reading Month, which promotes a culture of reading, knowledge development, and intellectual enrichment. |

Architecture Students Explore Heritage and Sustainability at Ajman Heritage Area |

Architecture students participated in an educational field visit titled “My Heritage, My Identity” to the Ajman Heritage Area, organized by Dr. Muna Salameh, Principal Lecturer at the College of Architecture, Art and Design. The visit allowed students to explore traditional Emirati architecture and examine passive design strategies through observation, sketching, and analysis. Students studied climate-responsive features such as courtyards, shading systems, ventilation methods, and the use of local materials to achieve thermal comfort before modern cooling systems. The experience helped students better understand how heritage architecture reflects environmental awareness, cultural identity, and sustainable design principles that remain relevant today. |

Dental Students Promote Oral Health During Outreach Visit to Al Zohour School |

Internship, fourth-year, and fifth-year dental students took part in a dental outreach visit to Al Zohour School under the supervision of Dr. Ruba Odeh, Assistant Professor at the College of Dentistry, gaining hands-on experience in community dental care. Students delivered oral health awareness sessions for children, conducted dental examinations, and provided preventive procedures such as cleaning and oral prophylaxis. The initiative allowed students to apply their clinical knowledge in a real community setting while strengthening their communication, patient care, and preventive dentistry skills. |

Architecture students in the Design 3 Studio, led by Dr. Muna Salameh, Principal Lecturer, visited Ajman Academy School as part of their ongoing school design project. The visit gave students the opportunity to observe how educational spaces function in practice, from classroom layouts and circulation to play areas and shaded outdoor spaces. The event was organized by Masar Career Excellence in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development as part of the “Tjouri Initiative.” The session focused on developing entrepreneurial ideas into practical projects while highlighting available support and funding opportunities.
