Ajman University Earns 5+ QS Stars Overall Rating, the Highest Distinction in the QS Stars Rating System

Ajman University has been awarded a 5+ QS Stars Overall Rating, the highest distinction granted through the QS Stars University Rating System. The result places Ajman University among a select group of universities worldwide and as one of only two institutions in the UAE currently to achieve this level. In addition to the overall 5+ rating, the University earned 5 Stars across nine core dimensions of institutional performance: Teaching, Employability, Good Governance, Global Engagement, Research, Facilities, Social Impact, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Program Strength. Alaa Aref, Graphic Design Student Wins Ajman Parks Logo Competition  

His Excellency Abdul-Rahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of the Municipality and Planning Department, honored Alaa Aref Al Hemeiri, a student from the College of Mass Communication, Graphic Design major, after she won the Ajman Parks Competition for designing the best logo to represent all parks across the Emirate. The recognition took place during the Ajman Agriculture Award ceremony held at Al Safia Family Park in Ajman. Alaa’s submission was supervised by Dr. Mervat Medhat Ali, Associate Professor at the College of Mass Communication, and came in response to an invitation from Ms. Sahar Makki, Senior Lecturer at the College of Architecture, Art, and Design.

Alumnus Shoayb Khattab, an alumnus of the College of Architecture, Art and Design, won the Best Project in Photography award for Noir Matiere at the Créateurs Design Awards 2026, which honors outstanding work across global design disciplines.

Architecture Students Win GCC Regional Prize at KALEIDOSCOPE 2025

Students from the College of Architecture, Art, and Design won the GCC Regional Prize at KALEIDOSCOPE 2025, a prestigious architectural design competition organized by Asian Paints. Under the academic supervision of Dr. Muna Salameh, the team competed against 77 submissions from across the GCC, including entries from the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman, and achieved a significant regional milestone. The winning team—Sirajam, Muneera, Sadia, Glerica Irish Clado, and Ayesha Ziyad—distinguished themselves through a concept that reflected creativity, cultural awareness, and strong spatial thinking. The team presented BAYN, a proposed community center in Sharjah that explores emotional transition. Located between the city and the waterfront, the design connects active and quiet spaces through a looped layout and uses light and enclosure to support reflection and interaction.

Psychology Department Hosts Third Symposium on “Challenge and Opportunity”

The Psychology Department organized the Third Psychology Department Symposium – 2026 under the theme “Challenge and Opportunity,” bringing together students and faculty to discuss Alzheimer’s interventions, musical experience and cognition, and burnout among healthcare professionals. The symposium was held under the leadership of Prof. Fares Howari, Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, and Dr. Rasha Abdelrahman, Head of the Psychology Department, and was moderated by Marei Ahmed, Prof. at the College of Humanities and Sciences, who facilitated the sessions and academic discussions. The event witnessed active engagement and constructive dialogue, strengthening research awareness and academic exchange.

Ajman University Women Empowerment Council Celebrates International Day of Women and Girls in Science

The Ajman University Women Empowerment Council hosted a Women in Science Open Discussion in celebration of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science. The event featured a distinguished panel of accomplished female scientists, professional engineers, and faculty members who shared their experiences, insights, and guidance on pursuing careers in STEM fields.

Students at Emirates National Schools Attend Emotional Wellbeing Workshop

Students at Emirates National Schools attended an awareness workshop on Emotional Wellbeing, organized by the Deanship of Student Services through the Center for Inclusive Learning, in collaboration with the Unit of Student Recruitment and Admissions. The session, delivered by Psychological Counsellor Samah Abusneimah, helped students build emotional awareness, strengthen mental resilience, and learn healthy coping strategies.

Peer Tutors Participate in Workshop on Supporting Diverse Abilities

The Deanship of Student Services, through the Center for Inclusive Learning and in partnership with the Student Success Center, held an awareness workshop entitled “Learning Without Limits: Empowering Peer Tutors for Diverse Abilities”. The workshop concentrated on Hearing and Learning Disabilities and was facilitated by Samah Abusniemah, Psychological Counsellor. It addressed student challenges, promoted peer support, and reinforced the University’s commitment to inclusive and accessible learning.

International Medical Students Gain Clinical Exposure at Saudi German Hospital Ajman

Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of the Clinical Sciences Department at the College of Medicine, joined alumna Dr. Yarah in accompanying international medical students during an educational visit to Saudi German Hospital Ajman, one of the University’s affiliated training sites. The visit provided students with valuable clinical exposure and strengthened their understanding of real-world medical practice.

Mass Communication students marked a strong presence at the 10th International Photography Festival “Xposure 2026,” held at Aljada and organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau. Dental Students Deliver Preventive Care to Al Manar Private School

A community outreach school visit was conducted at Al Manar Private School by a group of dental students under the supervision of Dr. Ruba Odeh. The visit aimed to provide preventive dental services while enhancing students’ clinical exposure and communication skills. During the visit, dental examinations were performed to assess the oral health status of the schoolchildren and to identify common dental conditions.

The Office of Sustainability delivered an awareness workshop for National Charity School as part of the series “Rooted in Community: Protecting Our Mangrove Guardians.” Led by Maya Haddad, Senior Sustainability Manager, the session engaged students in exploring the role of mangroves in climate action and coastal resilience through interactive activities and discussions.
