The consort of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, Sheikha Fatima bint Zayed bin Saqr Al Nahyan, Chairwoman of Umm Al Mu’mineen Association and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science, witnessed the thirty-fifth graduation ceremony for female students of Ajman University, which was dedicated to graduating the first cohort “UAE-Kuwait Brotherhood Class of 2026”, comprising over 450 graduates holding bachelor’s degrees and postgraduate qualifications.

Ajman University Participates in QS India Summit

Ajman University participated in the QS India Summit in Goa, engaging with global higher education leaders and exploring opportunities for international collaboration. Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, took part in high-level discussions and the India–Arab Presidential Meeting, highlighting future prospects for cross-border collaboration in higher education, research, and innovation. 

As part of the University’s participation, Nancy Stearns Bercaw, Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships at, participated in a panel discussion titled “Building a Global Higher Education Brand – What’s Your Story?” The session focused on university branding, institutional identity, and strategic storytelling, and explored how universities can align their brand narrative with their core purpose.

In addition, Dr. Gerard Prendergast, Dean of the College of Business Administration, joined Hind Al Ali, HR Director at Ajman Bank, in a compelling workshop on university–industry partnerships. This collaboration with Ajman Bank CEO and AU alumnus Mustafa Al Khalfawi led to the establishment of a Financial Markets Lab within the College of Business Administration, reinforcing Ajman University’s commitment to producing industry-ready, future-focused financial leaders.

In his January 2026 statement, Chancellor Seghir reaffirms Ajman University’s belief that education is a lifelong endeavor and outlines its expanding role beyond traditional degree pathways. Aligned with We the UAE 2031 and Ajman Vision 2030, the statement highlights the strategic importance of lifelong learning and introduces Ajman University Executive Education, launching in Spring 2026, as a key initiative to support professionals and leaders in navigating economic transformation and continuous change. The statement reflects the University’s long-term commitment to building future-ready expertise and strengthening institutional and national capacity.

The Office of International Academic Affairs Hosts Universiti Sains Malaysia Delegation

The Office of International Academic Affairs hosted a delegation from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen academic collaboration and advance joint programmes. The meeting was attended by Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, along with senior leadership and faculty members from Ajman University, and a USM delegation led by the Dean of the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering and senior academic representatives. The discussions marked the finalization and signing of the AU–USM Joint Degree Programme Agreement and the transition to its implementation phase, with a focus on advancing student mobility and strengthening academic collaboration between the two institutions.

Dr. Apurva Mishra Wins Young Researcher Award at AEEDC 2026

At AEEDC Dubai 2026, Dr. Apurva Mishra, Assistant Professor at the College of Dentistry, received the Young Researcher Award 2026 for his abstract titled “3D Bioprinting and Artificial Intelligence-Assisted Biofabrication of Personalized Oral Soft Tissue Constructs.” The work was selected by the AEEDC judging committee for its innovation, scientific rigor, and clinical relevance, reflecting the College of Dentistry’s strong commitment to research excellence.

Dentistry Students Win Top Honors at AEEDC 2026

Students from the College of Dentistry at Ajman University achieved a notable academic milestone at the AEEDC 2026 Oral Presentation Competition, where Noor Almadhoob, Mariam Allam, Reem Hassan, and Weam Belal secured First Place under the supervision of Dr. Sam Thomas for a study comparing titanium and PEEK patient-specific implants and evaluating their clinical performance over time, while Hamda Al Awadhi, Adina Tauqeer, and Shahd Alasfoor achieved Third Place, supervised by Dr. Jeny Mary George, for an in vivo study examining the effectiveness of silver nanoparticle-coated orthodontic brackets in reducing enamel demineralization and limiting bacterial growth during orthodontic treatment.

Ajman University Recognizes Excellence Across Its Academic Community and Strategic Partners at the 2024–25 Honors Assembly

Ajman University, a leading non-profit institution in the UAE, convened its annual Honors Assembly to recognize outstanding achievements across its faculty, researchers, staff, alumni, employers, and strategic partners. 

A central highlight of the ceremony was the recognition of 27 faculty members whose research achievements earned them inclusion in Stanford University’s 2025 list of the top 2 percent of scientists worldwide. This distinction underscores Ajman University’s growing global research footprint and its continued commitment to advancing knowledge across engineering, medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, business, humanities, and interdisciplinary research centers.

The Counseling Unit Hosts AI and Education Symposium on International Education Day

On the occasion of the International Day of Education, the Counseling Unit organized a symposium, titled “AI and Education: Preserving Human Agency in a World of Automation.” The event discussed the role of artificial intelligence in education, with a focus on ethics, critical thinking, and human-centered learning. Speakers from different universities shared views on inclusive classrooms, the changing role of education, smart learning environments, and the importance of creativity and human imagination. The symposium highlighted the need to balance technological progress with core human values in education.

Students from Springdales School Explore Ajman University College of Medicine

The College of Medicine, in collaboration with the Office of Strategic Communications, Marketing & Student Recruitment, welcomed 40 students from Springdales School Dubai for a school visit that introduced them to campus life and medical education. The visit featured an overview of the College of Medicine, medical career pathways, and admission requirements, followed by tours of the clinical simulation laboratory, human anatomy laboratories, and a hands-on session in the human physiology lab. The visit concluded with an interactive Q&A session with faculty members and medical students.

The Oncology Club Raises Lung Cancer Awareness at International School of Creative Science

The Oncology Club (Male), under the supervision of the Office of Student Life, organized a Lung Cancer Awareness Workshop at ISCS – International School of Creative Science. The workshop educated students about lung cancer, with a focus on the risks of smoking and vaping, and addressed common misconceptions about e-cigarettes. Through interactive discussions, students learned about prevention strategies, healthy lifestyle choices, and the importance of early awareness.

The Office of Medical Services Hosts Cervical Cancer Awareness Session

The Office of Medical Services, in collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City – Ajman (SKMCA), conducted a Cervical Cancer Awareness Session at the Medical Clinic. Led by Dr. Ruwa Abdulrahman Hassan, Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at SKMCA, the session emphasized women’s health, early detection, and HPV vaccination as a key preventive measure. The session encouraged open discussion around sexual and reproductive health and saw strong participation from Ajman University female faculty, staff, and students, reflecting the University’s commitment to women’s health and well-being.

The Office of Community Engagement Hosts Blood Donation Campaign

The Office of Community Engagement organized a Blood Donation Campaign to encourage students and staff to support lifesaving humanitarian efforts. Over 90 participants donated their blood, highlighting strong community engagement and solidarity. The campaign emphasized blood donation as a noble act that saves lives, while also raising awareness about its positive impact on public health.

The Office of Community Engagement Packs Goodie Bags for Manar Al Eman School

The Office of Community Engagement organized the “Donate Your Time – Hag Al Laila Packing” initiative to support children at Manar Al Eman School. The initiative brought volunteers together to pack goodie bags as part of the Hag Al Laila celebration, promoting community spirit and volunteerism. Through simple, time-based contributions, participants helped spread joy among children and reinforced Ajman University’s commitment to social responsibility, cultural values, and meaningful community engagement.

Students Prepare for Professional Careers Through Masar Career Excellence

Masar Career Excellence, in collaboration with Dubai Islamic Bank, organized a workshop titled “From Student to Professional: Building a Career with Purpose.” The workshop guided students through the transition from university to the professional world by offering practical insights into career planning, developing a professional mindset, and pursuing purpose-driven growth. Representatives from Dubai Islamic Bank shared real-world experiences and industry perspectives, and explained how students can align their personal values with long-term career goals.

The Office of Sustainability Advances Green Entrepreneurship for School Students

The Office of Sustainability organized the Green Entrepreneurship Program 2026 – School Edition, an intensive training and mentorship bootcamp for school students. The program aims to empower participants to develop environmentally and socially sustainable projects, while raising awareness and encouraging school engagement. It targets students, parents, educators, and the wider community, and focuses on innovation, sustainability-driven entrepreneurship, critical thinking, and hands-on learning. Building on the success of the previous university-level edition, the program includes structured workshops, expert mentorship, and guest speakers, and concludes with a final pitch competition, with the winning project receiving incubation support from Ajman University as a key milestone in translating student ideas into real-world impact.
