Ajman University Among the World’s First Founding Members of QS One

Ajman University has been named one of the first founding members of QS One, an elite leadership network that brings together universities shaping the future of global higher education. The announcement was made at the Bridge Summit in Abu Dhabi, at the Emirate of Ajman booth, where Ben Sowter, QS Senior Vice-President, and Dr. Ashwin Fernandes, QS Executive Director for Africa, Middle East and South Asia, presented the QS One Membership Certificate to Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University.

Prof. Atta ur Rehman Khan Recognized Among the Middle East’s Most Admired Professors to Watch in 2025

Prof. Atta ur Rehman Khan, Professor at the College of Engineering and IT, has been named one of the “Middle East’s Most Admired Professors to Watch in 2025” by Arabian World Magazine. The recognition highlights his contributions to cybersecurity education, research, and innovation, as well as his role in advancing academic practice and industry-relevant learning in the field.

Dentistry Graduates Earn Top Honors at IADR-UAE Competition

Graduates of the College of Dentistry achieved notable success at the IADR-UAE Competition in Ras Al Khaimah, earning recognition across both junior and senior research categories. Dr. Shahd Alasfoor won the Junior Category for her project on silver nanoparticle-coated brackets and enamel demineralization, conducted under the supervision of Dr. Jeny Mary George. In the Senior Category, Dr. Bothaina Abdulla Mohamed Alkabi received the IADR UAE Section Shofu Travel Award 2026 for her thesis examining maternal knowledge and practices related to dental caries in preschool children in the Eastern UAE, supervised by Dr. Raghad Hashim. The award grants her the opportunity to represent the UAE at the upcoming IADR General Session in San Diego, USA.

Ajman University Hosts its First Partner Appreciation Dinner Under the Theme “Together, We Can Empower Tomorrow”

Ajman University hosted its first Partner Appreciation Dinner at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Dubai, convening representatives from leading government entities, private-sector organizations, financial institutions, business groups, educational partners, and healthcare providers from across the UAE. Held under the theme “Together, We Can Empower Tomorrow,” the event reflected the University’s commitment to strategic cooperation that strengthens students’ transition from academic study to meaningful careers.

The Teaching and Learning Center Celebrates Faculty Achievement and Commitment to Excellence

Faculty members from across the university came together at a Faculty Recognition Gathering hosted by the Teaching and Learning Center, celebrating their commitment to lifelong learning and the continuous enhancement of teaching practice. The event recognized educators who completed professional development programs, strengthened their instructional skills, and actively contributed to enriching AU’s learning culture. Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, attended the ceremony and commended faculty members for their dedication to advancing teaching quality and enhancing the student learning experience.

The College of Architecture, Art and Design Participates in ICOM International Conference 2025

The College of Architecture, Art and Design participated in the 27th ICOM International Conference 2025, held at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Dr. Gamal El Samanoudy, Associate Professor, moderated the session titled “Networking Session: Northern Emirates – Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah” as part of the scientific program and officially represented Ajman University in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with ICOM UAE. In addition, students from the Interior Design Department designed and executed the ICOM UAE exhibition booth, received Certificates of Appreciation, and garnered positive feedback from visitors.

The Center for Inclusive Learning Celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities

The Center for Inclusive Learning marked the International Day of Persons with Disabilities with a special event that brought together students, faculty, and staff, highlighting stories of inspiration and achievement. The initiative reflects the Center’s ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment where accessibility and equal opportunity are core values, and where every student is supported in reaching their full potential.

The Teaching and Learning Center Organizes Session on the Future of Learning

The Teaching and Learning Center organized a session that brought faculty members together to engage with Dr. Alessandro Di Lullo, CEO of the Digital Education Council, who shared insights on artificial intelligence, assessment, and the future of learning. The session offered perspectives that support teaching and student development, while giving participants the opportunity to explore the Council’s resources, reports, and executive briefings that can inform teaching practice and strengthen research efforts.

The College of Humanities and Sciences Hosts Seminar on Research 

The College of Humanities and Sciences hosted a seminar by Prof. Saïd Bergheul from Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Canada, and Director of the Research Laboratory on Adaptation Difficulties and Psychosocial Intervention (LAREDAIP). The seminar highlighted opportunities for research collaboration and academic exchange, presented his research focus and methodologies, and emphasized participatory research approaches. The session aimed to strengthen interdisciplinary dialogue and research cooperation and was moderated by Prof. Marei Ahmed and coordinated by Dr. Karim Haj Ismail.

The Centre for Continuing Education and Enterprises Hosts Specialized Endodontics Training Course

The Centre for Continuing Education and Enterprises hosted a specialized endodontics training course for dental practitioners and interns titled “Elevate Your Daily Endodontic Practice with a Simplified Endo Approach in Shaping, Cleaning, and Obturation.” The course featured Prof. Philippe Sleiman, an international speaker sponsored by Kerr Company, and was conducted under the supervision of dentistry faculty, with coordination led by Dr. Okba Mahmoud. The training focused on modern and efficient root canal techniques delivered through applied clinical practice.

Law Students Attend Constitutional Law Session

Law students engaged in a session titled “Constitutional Law,” hosted by the College of Law and delivered by H.E. Dr. Mohammed Obaid Mohammed, Legal Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council of the Government of Ajman. The session introduced students to core constitutional principles in the UAE, outlined the roles of constitutional institutions, and explained how they function in practice, while highlighting the role of constitutional law in regulating the relationship between public authorities and protecting fundamental rights and freedoms.

Ajman University Representatives Participate in Sharjah Human Development Forum

Representatives from Ajman University participated in the inaugural Sharjah Human Development Forum held at the University of Sharjah, under the theme “Humanity and Heritage in Palestine.” The delegation included Prof. Fares Howari, Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, Hanaa Mansour, Lecturer at the College and Advisor of the Palestinian Cultural Club, along with members of the Club, who engaged in discussions on humanitarian efforts and cultural heritage in Palestine alongside diplomats, policymakers, academics, and students. The forum was attended by His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah, and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Family and Community Council.

Ajman University Medical Students Provide Health Screenings at a Laborers’ Camp

Students from the College of Medicine, accompanied by Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of the Clinical Sciences Department, visited a laborers’ camp to conduct comprehensive health screenings as part of their practical training. Through hands-on clinical engagement, students applied diagnostic skills, identified new cases of diabetes and hypertension, and provided essential over-the-counter medications, strengthening their clinical judgment, communication, and professional readiness. The experience supported their employability by bridging classroom learning with real-world healthcare practice while reinforcing responsibility and community engagement.

The Office of Medical Services Hosts Preconception Care Campaign in Collaboration with Emirates Health Services

The Office of Medical Services, in collaboration with Emirates Health Services (EHS), hosted the National Preconception Care Campaign under the theme “Today’s Decision Shapes Your Future and Your Family’s Tomorrow.” The session aimed to empower female students with essential knowledge for maintaining optimal health before pregnancy. Dr. Lujain Muteb Abdulkrim delivered an informative talk covering reproductive health, lifestyle factors affecting fertility, early screenings, and healthy family planning, while also promoting culturally respectful awareness of sexual and reproductive health.

The College of Architecture, Art and Design organized Sustainable Day 2025, led by Dr. Muna Salameh with coordination support from Ms. Ayat Elkhazindar. The event brought together students from the College alongside professionals, consultants, and academics, providing a platform to exchange expertise and engage with sustainability practices across design and the built environment.
