His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired the meeting of Ajman University’s Board of Trustees held at the University’s premises, in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Vice Chairman of the Board.
His Highness praised the dedicated efforts of Ajman University’s community in advancing its academic stature and strengthening its position in international and regional rankings. He also emphasized the imperative of maintaining this momentum and further enhancing the University’s contribution to national priorities, sustainable development and the advancement of the knowledge economy.

Ajman University and NMC Healthcare Strengthen Collaboration in Academic and Clinical Training |

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, welcomed a delegation from NMC Healthcare that included Dr. Raashid Shahbazi, Regional Medical Director for Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, and Dr. Kalpana Krishnareddy, Deputy Medical Director. The visit also included participation from Ajman University representatives, Dr. Akram Ashames, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs; Prof. Allen Guy Ross, Dean of the College of Medicine; Prof. Abeer AlGhananeem, Dean of the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences; Prof. Salem Abu Fanas, Dean of the College of Dentistry; and Dr. Amer AlAni, Head of Clinical and Medical Education in the College of Medicine. Lacina Koné, a 1993 graduate of Ajman University’s College of Engineering and Information Technology, is leading a €100 million plan to create a Single Digital Market across Africa as CEO of Smart Africa—an alliance of over 40 nations driving digital integration and innovation. Since his appointment in 2019, Koné has expanded the initiative from 7 to 40 countries, launched the Smart Africa Fund to attract sustainable tech investment, and introduced the Smart Africa Startup Act to empower entrepreneurs. His mission focuses on harmonizing digital policies, ensuring data sovereignty, and turning Africa into a hub of homegrown innovation where talent thrives, startups scale, and data remains locally owned. |

Ajman University Students Win Third Place at Sharjah Tourism Innovation Hackathon 2025 |

Ajman University students achieved a remarkable accomplishment by winning third place at the Sharjah Tourism Innovation Hackathon 2025, launched by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the American University of Sharjah. Winning team—Saima Bayoumi, Maryam Alshanqiti, Jon Regala, and Nouran Alasel—from the College of Engineering and Information Technology, specializing in Biomedical Engineering, presented their innovative project TRAIL/S, a website and future browser extension designed to address the lack of centralized accessibility information about tourist locations. The project focuses on serving people of determination and promoting the concept of inclusive tourism. |

|
The Ajman University Innovation Center (AUIC) led a talented, multidisciplinary student team to strong results at the Nestlé x Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) AI 4 Industry Hackathon. From the outset, AUIC played a key role in selecting the right mix of talent, facilitating collaboration across disciplines, and mentoring the team through every phase. The students developed an AI-powered solution that forecasts product demand, analyzes market trends, and adjusts pricing dynamically to reduce waste and improve supply chain efficiency. The team included students from different colleges: Hala Amir, Gheena Baghdadi, Abdullah Al Mokdad, Mustafa FarajAllah, Rana Mohammed, and Nada Alkolak. Their work combined data analytics with practical business applications, supported by mentorship from Nestlé and Databricks. |

Participating companies such as Qinwan Premium Dates, Kcal Life, and Croffle Café showcased healthy products and lifestyle tips. The festival brought together students, faculty, and staff for a day dedicated to wellness, compassion, and community giving. |
