We’re pleased to share the October 2025 edition of “From the Desk of the Chancellor”, in which Dr. Karim Seghir celebrates the power of Ajman University’s alumni to inspire, lead, and transform communities worldwide.

In this month’s message, Dr. Seghir highlights AU’s global impact, the extraordinary achievements of alumni across 102 countries, and the upcoming first-ever Alumni Conference this November—a milestone that will connect past, present, and future trailblazers.

New Episode of “Ramsah Podcast” Highlights the Power of Internships

Ajman University released a new episode of its Ramsah Podcast titled “The Internship Advantage,” Hussain Al Essa, Business Development Manager at Meinhardt, who shares valuable insights on standing out in a competitive job market, embracing technology such as AI, building professional networks, and leveraging internships to gain a career edge.

The episode offers practical advice for students and job seekers aiming to enhance their career readiness and professional growth.

Ajman University Signs Comprehensive Agreement with Baku State University

Ajman University has signed a comprehensive agreement with Baku State University (BSU), the oldest and largest higher education institution in Azerbaijan and home to many of the country’s most prominent figures. During the visit, Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, met with Dr. Elchin Babayev, Rector of BSU, to explore areas of collaboration that unite both institutions in advancing education, research, and societal impact.

Dr. Muna Salameh Participates as Distinguished Speaker on Architecture and Safety at WETEX 2025

Dr. Muna Salameh from the College of Architecture, Art & Design participated as a distinguished speaker at DEWA’s Health & Safety Hub, held alongside WETEX 2025 in collaboration with Bureau Veritas. Under the theme “Innovation in Health, Safety, and Wellbeing,” Dr. Salameh discussed how architectural design can enhance safety, health, and resilience in built environments.

Dr. A. Nagaletchimee Annamalai Wins Silver and Bronze Awards at the Penang International Invention, Innovation and Design Competition

Dr. A. Nagaletchimee Annamalai, Visiting Scholar from the Department of Languages and Culture at the College of Humanities and Sciences, Ajman, won two international awards at the Penang International Invention, Innovation and Design (PIID) competition. Her project “MAGNIWRITE: An AI-Powered Framework to Amplify Argumentative Writing Skills with a Global SDG Lens” received the Silver Award (2nd place), while “Interactive Video Feedback with Socratic Questioning to Enhance ESL Narrative Writing” earned the Bronze Award (3rd place). Both projects were recognized for their innovative integration of AI and technology to enhance English language learning, underscoring Ajman University’s commitment to educational innovation and global research excellence.

Dentistry Students Begin Their Medical Journey with the White Coat Ceremony

The College of Dentistry organized the White Coat Ceremony for first-year dental students, aiming to instill professional and humanitarian values and introduce them to the responsibilities and ethics of medical practice. The ceremony marked the beginning of their academic journey in the field of dentistry.

Pathology Club  Conducts  Sepsis Awareness Workshop at Al Hikmah School

The Pathology Club organized an Educational Workshop at Al Hikmah Private School in Ajman on World Sepsis Awareness Day. The visit featured an educational workshop, highlighting the dangers of sepsis and the importance of proper wound care, handwashing practices, and disinfection to prevent serious health complications. 

Students Empowered to Support Peers of Determination through  Learning Without Limits Workshop

The Center for Inclusive Learning (CIL), in collaboration with the Student Success Center (SSC), launched a transformative upskilling initiative through the workshop series “Learning Without Limits – Empowering Peer Tutors for Diverse Abilities”. Led by Ms. Samah Abusneineh and Dr. Erum Khan, the workshops equipped Peer Tutors with practical strategies to effectively mentor and support students with visual disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. Together, SSC and CIL are building a campus culture where students not only learn without limits, but also uplift one another through compassion, inclusion, and peer-driven excellence.

The Office of Medical Services Leads Breast Cancer Awareness Event with Hands-On BSE Workshop

In observance of World Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Office of Medical Services, in collaboration with Saudi German Hospital Ajman and the UAE Red Crescent, organized a session titled “Hands-On Breast Self-Examination (BSE): A Life-Saving Practice”. The event empowered participants with practical BSE techniques for early detection and prevention and offered free specialist and nutrition consultations. Aligned with the UN SDG on Health and Well-being, it reinforced Ajman University’s commitment to fostering a healthier, more informed community.

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Collaborates with Elsevier to Enhance Education   

The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences hosted an interdisciplinary digital education workshop aimed at enhancing teaching and learning through innovative technologies. The event, coordinated by Dr. Hosny Sultan, Clinical Assistant Professor, and Dr. Deema Mahasneh, Head of the Nursing Department, featured a session by Ms. Sylvia Farag from Elsevier, who trained faculty and students on the Osmosis Nursing platform and introduced tools like ClinicalKey for Nurses and Complete Anatomy to enhance digital learning. 

Ajman University and Hock International Champion Future Finance Leaders

The College of Business Administration hosted an interactive session titled “The Power of Professional Certifications in Finance and Accounting,” featuring Mr. Brian Hock, Founder and President of Hock International. The session explored how global certifications such as CMA, CPA, CIA, and IFRS enhance career readiness and bridge the gap between academia and industry. Mr. Hock also discussed the impact of AI in finance and accounting, emphasizing its role as a supportive tool. As part of Hock International’s educational commitment, five scholarships were awarded to Ajman University students, and Mr. Hock personally presented an IFRS Certificate of Completion to senior student Shaker Masoud in recognition of his achievement.

The College of Medicine Hosts “Roadmap to Clinical Electives” Orientation 2025

The College of Medicine held its annual Clinical Elective Orientation titled “Roadmap to Clinical Electives,” guiding students on applying for and completing clinical rotations locally and abroad. Senior medical students shared practical insights from global clinical rotations, offering peers guidance on applications, logistics, and professional readiness for successful electives. The orientation highlighted elective opportunities in the UAE, USA, UK, Canada, Germany, and Egypt, with examples from Yale University , Florida International University, East Kent Hospitals, and Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City.

Ajman University Showcases Programs and Scholarships at Najah Abu Dhabi 2025

Ajman University proudly participated in Najah Abu Dhabi 2025, showcasing its wide range of academic programs and scholarship opportunities to prospective students. During an engaging session titled “Be Career Ready with Ajman University,” AU inspired future learners to take confident steps toward their professional journeys. The event provided a dynamic platform to connect with, engage, and empower the next generation of AU students.

Masar Career Excellence, in collaboration with DoubleTree by Hilton, organized an engaging session on HR practices and career growth. Led by Hams Mamdouh, HR Executive, and Dhaneshi Chandrasekera, Assistant Learning & Development Manager, the session provided students with valuable insights into the hospitality industry, enhancing their employability and career readiness.

Masar Career Excellence Collaborates with Dubai Police to Host “Security Future Makers” Initiative

Masar Career Excellence hosted the launch of the “Security Future Makers” project, an initiative by the Dubai Police General Headquarters, through its Future Foresight Center and College & University Student Council, aimed at empowering students to shape Dubai’s future. Through foresight workshops and scenario planning, students will analyze trends and develop innovative reports supporting Dubai’s 2040 vision. The initiative aligns with Ajman University’s Strategic Plan 2022–2027, enhancing students’ leadership and future-readiness skills.

Ajman University Students Participate in Dubai Municipality Sustainability Forum

Ajman University students, accompanied by the Office of Sustainability, participated in the Sustainability Forum organized by Dubai Municipality at Dubai Safari Park. The event brought together experts, academics, and students to discuss sustainable development and innovation. A key highlight was the Innovation Lab, where AU students addressed real-world sustainability challenges related to the circular economy and Dubai Municipality’s sustainability agenda. Their creative solutions demonstrated strong analytical thinking and emphasized the vital role of youth in driving sustainability. This participation reaffirmed Ajman University’s commitment to empowering students and promoting sustainability across disciplines.
