Ajman University has achieved a major milestone in its academic journey, advancing five places to rank #12 in the QS Arab Region University Rankings 2026. This achievement reinforces the University’s growing stature as a regional hub for academic excellence, research innovation, and global engagement. Ajman University recorded notable advances across several key indicators, reflecting the institution’s deliberate and sustained strategic momentum. The University rose 15 places in Web Impact, highlighting its expanding digital reach and global visibility; 12 places in both Citations per Paper and International Research Network, underscoring the growing strength of its scholarly output and international collaborations; 9 places in Academic Reputation; and 6 places in Papers per Faculty, signaling increased trust in its academic standing and research productivity. |

Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir co-chaired a presidential roundtable, “Borderless & Purpose-Driven: Rethinking the Role of the Arab University,” alongside Dr. Nathalie Martial-Braz, Chancellor of Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Jacques de Champchesnel, Head of Consulting and Insights at QS. The discussion centered on achieving a borderless mindset for real societal impact, featuring practical cases, concrete metrics, and 90-day commitments from leaders in the room. |

Dr. Mustahsan Mir, Vice-Chancellor for Institutional Planning and Effectiveness, participated in a panel discussion on “ QS Stars Rating and Institutional Excellence” at the QS Arab Forum 2025 held at Muscat in Oman on 15-16 October 2025. He also made a presentation to demonstrate how Ajman University succeeded in obtaining 5 QS Stars in 8 out of 9 categories. The audit process undertaken by QS highlighted the strengths and achievements of Ajman University in all these indicators, as well as their notable impact on the University’s overall performance excellence. |

Ajman University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Cyber Security Council during GITEX GLOBAL 2025, marking a new milestone in academia–government collaboration. The agreement was signed by Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, and H.E. Dr. Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government. The partnership aims to advance cybersecurity education, research, and capacity-building programs that empower future digital leaders.

Ajman University signed a partnership agreement with the Ajman Contact Center, part of the Department of Digital Ajman, to provide students with hands-on training and professional development opportunities. The agreement was signed by Prof. Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, and H.E. Dr. Ohoud Shehail, Director General of the Department of Digital Ajman, during GITEX Global 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The collaboration aims to enhance students’ skills, foster professionalism, and empower national talent through practical training, community service, and research exchange. Ajman University Innovation Center Students Win Best Short Paper Award at SRC2025 |
|
|
|
The Ajman University Innovation Center (AUIC) received the Best Short Paper Award at the Student Research Conference on Applied Computing (SRC2025), hosted by Zayed University, for its project titled “VibroLens: Video Magnification-Based Motor Predictive Maintenance Using Vibration Analysis.” It was developed and presented by Murtada Ali Abdulridah, Shehab Ahmed Al-Ghawi, Abdulla Mohammed Homsieah, Ahmed Mustafa Abdelgawad, and Mohammed Mosleh Ismail. The project introduces an innovative AI-driven, non-contact approach for motor fault detection. The students, from the College of Engineering and IT’s Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, were incubated and funded by AUIC, with a patent filing for their work currently in progress. Under the mentorship of Prof. Kamran Arshad and Engr. Wessam Shehieb, their groundbreaking project stood out among 289 submissions from 49 universities across nine countries due to its creativity, originality, and real-world impact. |

The College of Medicine (AUCoM) showcased its research excellence at Ajman NeoPedia 2025. Faculty members Dr. Abdullah Alzoubi, Dr. Amer Al Ani, and Dr. Maryam Amirrad served on the academic and research committee, with two acting as expert judges. Under their mentorship, AUCoM students achieved outstanding success: Rawan Yaser and her team won First Place for their poster “Unexplained Non-Immune Hydrops Fetalis in Neonate: Unveiling a Very Rare Metabolic Disorder,” highlighting the role of genetic testing in accurate diagnosis and improved clinical outcomes. Another project, “Unravelling the Mystery: A Case Report of a Baby with Suspected Goldenhar Syndrome,” addressed diagnostic challenges in rare congenital anomalies and emphasized early, multidisciplinary evaluation. These achievements reflect AUCoM’s commitment to fostering clinical research skills, critical thinking, and innovation among its students. |

The College of Dentistry, in collaboration with Temple University’s Kornberg School of Dentistry, USA, hosted a two-day Joint Dental Symposium at the Sheikh Zayed Center. The symposium brought together distinguished international speakers, faculty members, practitioners, researchers, and students to exchange insights on innovative caries management, minimally invasive dentistry, and the transformative role of AI in clinical practice. This event reflects the College of Dentistry commitment to advancing dental education and practice, strengthening global partnerships, and preparing students for their professional future. |

Women’s Empowerment Council & Nursing Students Champion Pink October

In support of Ajman University’s commitment to preventive health and community engagement, the Nursing Department at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and the Nursing Students Club organized an interactive Breast Cancer Awareness Booth titled “Be Aware, Be Empowered” under the Pink October initiative by the Women Empowerment Council. Led by Mrs. Alaa Al Amiry and run by second- and third-year nursing students, the booth featured anatomical models, hands-on breast self-examination demonstrations, and QR codes linking to trusted learning materials. Over 40 students from various majors participated, practicing techniques and completing a knowledge quiz, turning the event into a practical and memorable learning experience that built skills and confidence for early detection. |

The Center for Inclusive Learning organized a visit for its People of Determination (POD) students to the AccessAbilities Expo 2025, the region’s leading exhibition dedicated to empowering PODs, who number around 50 million in the Middle East. Held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the seventh edition featured over 270 exhibitors from 50 countries, showcasing advanced assistive technologies, services, and solutions that enhance accessibility and inclusion. The visit offered POD students a valuable opportunity to explore innovations and engage with experts and organizations supporting the UAE’s vision of an inclusive and accessible society. |

IT Club Hosts Coding Battle 2025 |

|
Ajman University’s IT Club, under the Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and IT, organized Coding Battle 2025 in collaboration with the Office of Student Life. Supported by Dubai Police, the Council of Dubai Police Colleges and Universities, and sponsored by Lavish Perfumes (Gold Sponsor), FITNATION GYM, and Zaka Ambassadors, the event brought together 81 students forming 27 teams—15 male and 12 female. The competition enhanced participants’ programming, problem-solving, and teamwork skills through two rounds focused on coding efficiency and accuracy. The top three teams received cash prizes and gifts from supporting partners. Continuing to serve as a platform for young innovators, the IT Club empowers AU students with practical technical skills through competitions, workshops, and hands-on experiences that bridge theory and practice. |

First Aid Students Gain Real-World Insight at National Ambulance Headquarters |

Students from various majors enrolled in the First Aid course visited the National Ambulance Headquarters in Abu Dhabi as part of an experiential learning trip led by Senior Lecturer Alaa Al Amiry. During the visit, students explored the emergency call-taking system at the Ambulance Control Center and observed the real-time process of dispatching ambulances to emergency sites. The engaging experience deepened students’ understanding of the UAE’s emergency response systems and highlighted the dedication of those working behind the 998 hotline. This initiative reflects Ajman University’s commitment to connecting academic learning with community engagement. |
