Computer Engineering students from the College of Engineering won third place at the prestigious Smart Mobile Application Contest (SMAC 2025) hosted by Khalifa University, where 86 teams from across the UAE competed and only 23 were shortlisted. The AU team “EarthPluse,” comprising Sedra Wattar and Adonay Gebremedhin, presented their project PlanetWatch—an AI-powered sustainability companion that enables citizens to capture and report environmental challenges such as pollution, floods, and waste in real time, bridging communities and governments through actionable insights that support disaster management and sustainable resource allocation. |
