The session was attended by Mohamed Ali Al Janahi, Executive Director of the Member Support Services Sector at Ajman Chamber; Jamila Kajour Al Nuaimi, Director of Member Relations and Support at Ajman Chamber; and representatives from educational institutions across the emirate. Ajman University Launches the First IEC Student Chapter in the UAE |

Ajman University has achieved a landmark milestone by signing an agreement to establish the first student chapter of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) in the United Arab Emirates. This achievement positions AU at the forefront of academic institutions that integrate education with international standards in electrical, electronic, and related technologies, while reinforcing its role in driving innovation and advancing academic and research excellence. The agreement was signed by H.E. Dr. Farah Al Zarooni, Assistant Undersecretary for Standardization Affairs at the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MoIAT) and President of the UAE IEC National Committee, and Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Ajman University. This milestone underscores AU’s continuous efforts to empower its students and strengthen its global academic presence. |

Ajman University has welcomed 48 outstanding scholars from 27 nationalities to its academic community for the Academic Year 2025-26, reaffirming its global reputation for diversity and ranking AU #6 worldwide for international faculty. At AU, faculty members publish an average of six Scopus-indexed articles annually, with nearly 70% appearing in Q1 journals. Nearly 20 faculty members rank among Stanford’s list of the world’s top 2% of scientists, including one in the top 1%. The university also proudly holds 19 international accreditations and is the first private, non-profit university in the Arab region to earn WSCUC accreditation. With this milestone, Ajman University continues to strengthen its position as a hub of academic excellence, innovation, and global diversity. |
