Ajman University Launches Over 10 New Academic Programs for Fall 2025–2026

Ajman University has announced the launch of more than 10 new academic programs across diverse and emerging fields, reinforcing its commitment to preparing students for the demands of the job market. The newly introduced programs are available for the Fall intake 2025–2026 and span undergraduate and graduate levels.

Among the standout offerings are the BSc in Artificial Intelligence, BSc in Cybersecurity, BSc in International Hospitality Management, BSc in Physiotherapy, MA in Clinical Psychology, Master in Digital Sociology, MSc in Business Analytics, MSc in Orthodontics, MSc in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics, and Postgraduate Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration. 

Ajman University Pharmacy Graduates Gain Easier Access to Canadian PEBC Certification

Ajman University is proud to announce that graduates from its College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) will benefit from a more straightforward path to certification by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (PEBC). Starting May 13, 2025, PEBC’s updated guidelines exempt graduates of internationally accredited programs or institutions with comparable licensing and practice standards from the evaluation exam, allowing them to proceed directly to the qualifying exam.

Mass Communication Students Attend Parliamentary Session at the Federal National Council

Mass communication students visited the Federal National Council (FNC) in Abu Dhabi to attend the ninth session of the eighteenth legislative term, which focused on enhancing the government’s role in media to ensure content credibility and reinforce national identity. Organized by Dr. Amal Badr and faculty members, the visit aimed to deepen students’ understanding of parliamentary and media processes. The session concluded with key recommendations, including empowering national leadership in media institutions, involving local experts in training, and partnering with universities to support student development.

Architecture Students Gain Industry Experience in Collaboration with P&T Architects

Ajman University’s College of Architecture, Art and Design concluded a Spring 2025 collaboration between third-year Architecture students and the internationally renowned firm P&T Architects and Engineers Ltd. The initiative, led by Mrs. Nashwa Shiqwarah and co-supervised by Mr. Mahmoud Shahin, engaged students in a real development brief and included a site visit to Palm Jumeirah. Students presented their final work to both faculty and industry professionals, gaining valuable practical experience. Mass Communication Students and Alumni Participate in the Arab Media Summit 2025

Architecture Students Showcase Sustainable Projects at EmiratesGBC Congress

The College of Architecture, Art and Design participated in the exhibition held alongside the Emirates Green Building Council’s 14th Annual Congress, under the theme “Mission to 1.5°C: Be Bold on Buildings.” The Architecture Department, led by Dr. Muna Salameh, showcased innovative student work focused on climate-resilient architecture, including sustainable school designs and shaded pavilions tailored for the UAE’s hot climate. Dr. Muna supervised students Farah and Jana, who presented their proposals with creativity and professionalism, reflecting a deep understanding of environmental challenges and future-oriented design. This participation reinforces Ajman University’s ongoing role as a Knowledge Partner of the Emirates Green Building Council and its commitment to advancing sustainability in the built environment.

CAAD Camp Brings Architecture, Art & Design to Schools Across Ajman and Dubai

This summer, the College of Architecture, Art & Design extended its creative outreach by taking the CAAD Camp directly into schools across Ajman and Dubai. Led by the CAAD Recruitment Team, along with dedicated faculty members and student ambassadors, the initiative aimed to inspire and engage the next generation of architects, artists, and designers. Through a series of engaging lectures and hands-on workshops, high school students had the opportunity to explore the dynamic world of architecture, art, and design. The sessions were met with enthusiasm and excitement, sparking curiosity and creativity among students eager to learn and connect. The outreach program not only showcased the vibrant spirit of CAAD but also built meaningful connections with aspiring young talents across the region.

Engineering and IT Students Clinched First Two Places at the 19th IEEE UAE Student Day

Ajman University students achieved a remarkable victory at the 19th IEEE UAE Student Day, held at the University of Dubai. Competing against 99 projects from 19 universities across the UAE, a team from the College of Engineering and Information Technology won first place in the Software Engineering Design category. The winning project was a real-time visual assistance mobile app designed to support individuals with visual impairments, developed by students Adonay D. Gebremedhin, Sedra Wattar, and Sara Walhan, under the supervision of Eng. Wessam Shehieb. This outstanding achievement reflects the students’ creativity, dedication, and technical excellence, as well as the University’s ongoing efforts to support student participation in national and regional competitions.

Electrical Engineering Students Win Second Place at URIC 2025

Electrical Engineering students secured Second Place in the Electrical and Electronic Engineering category at the 12th Undergraduate Research and Innovation Competition (URIC), hosted by Abu Dhabi University. Their project, “Video Magnification-Based Motor Predictive Maintenance Using Vibration Analysis,” introduces an AI-powered, non-contact method for detecting motor faults. The winning team included Murtada Ali Abdulridah, Shehab Ahmed Al-Ghawi, Abdulla Mohammed Homsieah, Ahmed Mustafa Abdelgawad, and Mohammed Mosleh Ismail, under the supervision of Prof. Kamran Arshad and Engr. Wessam Shehieb. The competition brought together 59 teams from 31 universities across 10 countries, providing a vibrant platform for innovation and cross-cultural academic exchange.

Talented AU Student Wins Top Prize in Arab World Fine Arts Competition

Zeinab Ali, a student at Ajman University, earned first place in the Fine Arts Competition held at Al Qasimiya University. The competition brought together talented students from universities across the Arab world, showcasing artistic excellence and creativity. Zeinab’s achievement reflects Ajman University’s efforts to actively engage students in regional competitions and foster their creative growth.

Prof. Khaled Assaleh Showcases AU’s AI Literacy Initiatives at Gulf University AI Forum

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, spoke during Gulf University’s broadcast as part of the Arab Forum on Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education, organized in partnership with Times Higher Education. He emphasized that AI is now essential in education and highlighted Ajman University’s proactive initiatives, including a mandatory “AI Literacy” course for all students and ongoing faculty training. Prof. Khaled also stressed the importance of ethical AI use and raising student awareness. This reflects Ajman University’s commitment to preparing students and faculty for an AI-driven future.

Prof. Gerard Prendergast Recognized as Professor Emeritus by HKBU

Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Dean of the College of Business Administration, has been conferred the title of Professor Emeritus by Hong Kong Baptist University (HKBU), in recognition of his distinguished service, academic excellence, and outstanding contributions to the university and the broader scholarly community. Prof.  Prendergast, who served the School of Business at HKBU for nearly three decades, has played a pivotal role in advancing the fields of marketing and business education. His academic career at the university was marked by exemplary teaching, impactful research, and dedicated leadership. He is widely recognized for his scholarly work in consumer behavior, advertising, and marketing communications, which has been published in leading international journals. Prof. Prendergast plans to use his continued connection with HKBU to facilitate collaborative opportunities for Ajman University.

Dr. Amal Badr Speaks about "Media Literacy Amid Technological Challenges"

Dr. Amal Badr, Associate Professor at the College of Mass Communication, participated in an episode of the program "For Those Concerned", which was broadcast live on Noor Dubai Radio and simultaneously aired on Noor Dubai TV. The episode discussed the topic of "Media Literacy Amid Technological Challenges", addressing several key themes. These included the definition of media literacy, whether it is merely a technical skill or a broader concept, and how it contributes to building public awareness in an era overwhelmed with information and fake news. The episode also explored the distinction between media literacy and media illiteracy, in addition to highlighting the role of the family in instilling media awareness in children from an early age. Furthermore, the discussion covered how social media platforms can be used as educational tools rather than sources of misinformation.

Dr. Amer Al Ani Mentors GCC Participants in Royal College Surgical Skills Course

Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of Clinical Sciences at Ajman University’s College of Medicine, participated as a faculty mentor in the Basic Surgical Skills (BSS) course organized by the Royal College of Surgeons of England at the SS Institute. The course brought together highly motivated participants from across the GCC, who demonstrated strong foundational surgical skills and great promise as future surgeons.

Ajman University hosted the inaugural meeting of the Masar Career Excellence Strategic Advisory Board, marking a key step in enhancing student readiness for the job market. Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir welcomed board members and emphasized the importance of bridging academic learning with real-world skills. Mohsin Aboobaker, Director of Masar Career Excellence presented the center’s vision of building an industry-integrated learning environment focused on employability and personal development. The board, which includes professionals from leading organizations, elected Khadijah Al Ali, Head of Talent and Career Development at e&, as Chair. The Red Crescent Student Club Recognized Nationally for Transformative Community Service

From organizing 30 impactful initiatives to mobilizing over 1,200 volunteers and touching more than 6,500 lives, the Emirates Red Crescent Student Club at Ajman University has redefined student-led community service.
This remarkable effort earned the club second place in the 13th Aoun Award for Community Service (2024–2025), a prestigious national honor organized by the Emirates Red Crescent Authority in partnership with the Ministry of Education.
Under the guidance of the Office of Student Life and the supervision of the Community Service Unit, these students continue to lead with impact, turning compassion into meaningful action across the UAE.
