Ajman University Signs Strategic MoUs with Leading Chinese Universities During Official Visit to Chongqing

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, witnessed the signing of two Memoranda of Understanding between Ajman University and Chongqing University and Southwest University during his official visit to the People’s Republic of China. The agreements aim to strengthen academic cooperation in the areas of student exchange, scientific research, and joint programs. This reflects Ajman University’s commitment to expanding its international partnerships and reinforcing its position as a non-profit academic institution with a global reach, in line with the emirate’s vision of building a sustainable knowledge-based economy.

Nancy Stearns Bercaw Joins AU as Cabinet Member and Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships

Ajman University is delighted to welcome back Nancy Stearns Bercaw as Executive Director of Strategic Partnerships. As a Cabinet member, Nancy will lead efforts to enhance AU’s reputation for academic quality, research excellence, and meaningful student and alumni outcomes. She will drive new and existing partnerships, strengthen ties with global ranking bodies, and support AU’s fundraising and engagement goals. During her previous time at AU, Nancy helped shape the University’s “Make It Happen” motto, organized a student service trip to Zanzibar, and authored the most-read article of the year for QS’s Higher Ed Magazine. We’re excited to have her back on campus! 

AU Launches New Academic Programs Across Emerging and High-Demand Fields

Ajman University announces the launch of new programs for the 2024-2025 academic year, expanding its offerings to meet evolving global and local market needs. These include: BSc. in International Hospitality Management, BSc. in Cybersecurity, BSc. in Physiotherapy, MSc. in Business Analytics, MSc. in Orthodontics, Master of Clinical Dentistry in Prosthodontics, and MA in Clinical Psychology. Each program is designed to equip students with advanced, career-ready skills in high-demand fields, reinforcing AU’s commitment to academic excellence and graduate employability.

Ajman University Mass Communication Students Gain International Experience at Temple University

A group of Radio and TV students from Ajman University’s College of Mass Communication participated in an academic visit to Temple University in Philadelphia. Guided by Dr. Safa Osman, the initiative offered hands-on training in creative media production, direct exposure to professional broadcast environments, and rich cultural engagement. The experience challenged students to think globally, apply their learning in real-world contexts, and build the confidence needed to thrive in the future of media.

Ajman University Launches Sultan Rashid Saeed Al Dhaheri Endowed Scholarship Fund

Ajman University (AU) has announced the launch of the “Sultan Rashed Al Dhaheri Endowed Scholarship Fund”, established through an endowment by esteemed philanthropist H.E. Sultan Rashed Al Dhaheri. This milestone initiative reinforces AU’s long-standing commitment to educational equity by supporting high-achieving students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
The endowed fund represents a key component of AU’s fundraising strategy following its transition to non-profit status. It will serve as a permanent source of financial aid for academically promising students facing economic hardship, ensuring that opportunity is driven by merit, not means.

Ajman University hosted the 8th Edition of ‘Research Day’, reaffirming its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and national development. Organized by the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies, the annual event brought together faculty members, undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as distinguished representatives from government and private sectors to explore how applied research can support the UAE’s long-term strategic goals. The event showcased student research projects addressing real-world challenges across fields such as health, law, engineering, urban design, and behavioral science—highlighting AU’s efforts to foster a research culture aligned with national priorities and focused on meaningful impact.

The forum brought together local and international experts to discuss evolving trends in museology, design, and cultural engagement. Ajman University’s College of Medicine Hosts Rib Fracture Fixation Workshop in Collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City – Ajman

The Clinical Sciences Department at the College of Medicine, Ajman University, in collaboration with Sheikh Khalifa Medical City – Ajman, hosted a workshop on rib fracture fixation in the college’s wet lab. This hands-on training provided an excellent opportunity for medical students to gain practical experience and valuable insights from leading consultants and trauma specialists. This reflects Ajman University’s commitment to providing cutting-edge medical education through practical training and collaboration with leading healthcare institutions.

Ajman University Students Recognized for Real-World Innovation at Research Day 2025

Ajman University students were honored for developing practical and socially impactful solutions during the 8th Annual Research Day 2025. Among the standout projects was Drive Alert, a mobile-based drowsiness detection app created by four engineering students to enhance road safety for drivers. Another notable project, SenseScape, was designed by an architecture graduate to create inclusive spaces for the blind and visually impaired. These initiatives, along with others focused on sustainability and public wellbeing, reflect AU students' commitment to addressing everyday challenges through innovation, empathy, and applied research.
