Ajman University Hosts the 7th Arab Young Media Leaders Program

Ajman University hosted the seventh edition of the Young Arab Media Leaders Program, organized by the Arab Youth Center. More than 50 aspiring media professionals from 18 Arab countries took part in this initiative, which included interactive workshops and collaborative projects with students and alumni from the College of Mass Communication. The program focused on smart and community-driven media practices, offering participants a hands-on experience that emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in driving societal development. Through sessions on ethical reporting and digital storytelling, the visit provided valuable insights and real-world applications. This immersive experience underscored the program’s ongoing commitment to equipping Arab youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to lead the future of media in the region.

Morocco Uncovered: AU Students Dive into Fieldwork & Culture in Fez

Ajman University’s sociology students returned from an enriching university-led trip to Fez, Morocco, in collaboration with Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdallah University. The experience blended academic and cultural immersion — from hands-on ethnographic fieldwork and a restitution seminar to exploring the vibrant streets of Fez and venturing out to Ifrane and Chefchaouen.

This journey allowed students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings while connecting with international peers. Organized by Dr. Soumaya Slama and led by Dr. Enam Youssef, the trip reflected Ajman University’s commitment to fostering meaningful academic experiences beyond the classroom.

As part of Ajman University’s expanding international partnerships, the Office of International Academic Affairs hosted a dynamic group of international students from Woxsen University, further strengthening our global academic network. Integrated Marketing Communications Students Showcase Smart Solutions for a Sustainable Life

Integrated Marketing Communications students at the College of Mass Communication presented their graduation projects under the theme "Smart Products for a Sustainable Life." The exhibition featured five innovative projects tackling smart tourism, parking, home appliances, digital solutions, and interior design using AI and AR. The event, inaugurated by Dr. Hossam Salama, Dean of the College, and Dr. Emad El-Din Omar, Head of Department, highlighted the students’ creativity and commitment to developing practical, communication-driven solutions for real-world challenges.

Ajman University Students Participated in the International Arbitration Competition in Saudi Arabia

A team from Ajman University’s College of Law participated in the International Commercial Arbitration Competition, organized by the Saudi Center for Commercial Arbitration, competing among 154 teams from 25 countries. The AU team advanced to the final elimination stage, ranking among the top 32 globally. Mohammed Fajr Al-Din Al-Hasan Birqdar was named one of the top advocates, placing 8th overall. Under the guidance of Dr. Nasr Aboul Fotouh Hassan, the students trained intensively in oral advocacy and legal reasoning—showcasing AU’s commitment to global legal excellence.

Ajman University Participates in the Advance HE Gulf Fellowship Network Forum 2025

Ajman University participated in the Advance HE Gulf Fellowship Network Forum 2025 at Amity University Dubai. The forum united Gulf educators and leaders to reflect on teaching, celebrate fellowship achievements, and discuss strategies for educational excellence. The event was the first regional meeting of the Gulf Fellowship Network, founded and led by Dr. Mahinour Ezzat, Director of AU’s Teaching and Learning Center.AU congratulates Dr. Tizreena Ismail for establishing Advance HE Fellowship opportunities at the university. On her behalf, Ms. Hanin Ali received a certificate of appreciation for her contributions. This participation highlights AU’s commitment to fostering a community of empowered and reflective educators.

The Center for Inclusive Learning Celebrates World Braille Day with “Learn the Language of Light” Workshop

The Center for Inclusive Learning marked World Braille Day with an interactive workshop titled “Learn the Language of Light,” held at the Center for Inclusive Learning and led by inspiring AU alumna Raneem, a Person of Determination who brought both professional insight and personal experience to the session. The workshop offered participants a hands-on opportunity to explore the basics of Braille and understand how this tactile language empowers individuals with visual impairments to navigate the world and build meaningful connections. The College of Humanities and Sciences Hosts Workshop on AI and Student Wellbeing

The Department of Languages and Culture at the College of Humanities and Sciences, in collaboration with Studiosity, hosted a workshop titled “Generative AI & Student Wellbeing.” Led by Khansha Siddiqui, the session brought together over 80 students to explore how generative AI is shaping academic life and student wellbeing. Drawing on insights from the 2025 Middle East Student Well-being Report by YouGov, the workshop highlighted AI’s role in reducing study-related stress, supporting academic integrity, and enhancing the digital learning experience. Students also reflected on ethical use and practical strategies for engaging with emerging technologies.

The Colleges of Humanities and Sciences and Business Administration Conclude Intercollegiate Debate Series on AI and Privacy

The Colleges of Humanities and Sciences and the Colleges of Business Administration concluded their intercollegiate debate series with a final round titled “Artificial Intelligence Poses Dangerous Privacy Risks.” Six students debated the ethical and societal implications of AI, with the affirmative team securing victory. The event showcased strong critical thinking, communication skills, and mutual respect. Adjudicators from both colleges ensured fair evaluation, marking the successful end of a multi-stage initiative promoting intellectual exchange and academic excellence.

As part of the preparations for the Moot Court Competition, the College of Law, in collaboration with Al Tamimi & Co, organized two training sessions led by a team of legal consultants from the firm. The College of Business Administration hosted a seminar on Entrepreneurship and Business Excellence featuring Mr. Douraid Zaghouani, Executive VP and COO of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD). Drawing on his global leadership experience, Mr. Zaghouani emphasized three pillars of entrepreneurship: innovation, strong teams, and governance. He urged students to invest in personal growth and surround themselves with skilled, capable individuals. The session offered practical insights and leadership lessons, inspiring attendees to lead with purpose, collaboration, and integrity.

Ajman University Hosts AWS Student Immersion Day

Ajman University hosted an AWS (Amazon Web Services) Student Immersion Day, offering students a unique opportunity to engage with industry leaders and explore real-world applications of emerging technologies. Led by AWS experts Paul Melia, Dr. Ali Khoshkbar, Ahmed Alnaqbi, and Andrew Cochrane, the event welcomed 80 students from the Computer Science department in the College of Engineering and Information Technology. Participants gained insights into Amazon's company culture, learned AWS fundamentals, and explored early career opportunities. A key highlight was a hands-on session where students used PartyRock, Amazon’s generative AI platform, to build creative applications. The event aimed to foster innovation, spark creativity, and prepare students for future careers in technology.

College of Medicine Organizes Student Visit to Elderly Care Home for Medical Check-Ups and Community Engagement

As part of their clinical training, final-year medical students from the College of Medicine visited a local elderly care home, where they conducted basic medical check-ups and offered flowers to residents. The visit highlighted the values of empathy, compassion, and community engagement in medical education, leaving a positive impact on both staff and residents.
