Ajman University's CXO Connect event, held on April 30, reinforced the vital link between industry leaders and academic development, fostering an engaging dialogue about the UAE's rapidly evolving innovation landscape. Sajith Ansar (Founder and CEO, Idea Spice), Jatin Kalra (VP, Apparel Group), and Christoph Koster (CEO, Ruya Bank) offered unique perspectives on nurturing creativity, achieving sustainable expansion, and the critical role universities play in shaping an innovative mindset. Ajman University Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir highlighted the alignment of these insights with the UAE's ambitious vision for a knowledge-driven economy. Panelists underscored the nation's successful diversification strategies, dedication to growth, and the emergence of innovative, locally-grown enterprises. The CXOs collectively urged students to prioritize the development of robust interpersonal skills and maintain a steadfast focus on achieving long-term strategic goals. |

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Fares M. Howari, Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences, and Hanine Bou Antoun, Director of the Office of International Academic Affairs, represented Ajman University at a meeting hosted by Ajman Chamber at the Thara Centre for Entrepreneurship. The session welcomed an international delegation from Middle Tennessee State University, USA, including Dr. Sidney McPhee, President; Mr. Andrew Oppmann, Vice President of Communication and Marketing; and Dr. Rehab Ghazal, Associate Dean, College of Liberal Arts—along with representatives from the U.S. Embassy, Ameera Alhallak, Education Outreach Manager, and Rowan Atiya, Senior Education Advisor. From the Ajman Chamber, Nasser Al Dhafri, Advisor to the Chairman’s Office; Maryam Al Nuaimi, Head of Marketing and Corporate Communication; and Mouza Bou Shahab, Head of Customer Happiness Department, were also in attendance. The meeting aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and explore future partnerships in education, training, research, student exchange, and curriculum development. |

Law Students Win First Place in Dubai Customs Award 2025 |

Ajman University law students have achieved a remarkable milestone by winning first place at the national level in the 2025 Dubai Customs Award for Schools, Universities, and the Community, in the university category. The College of Law team participated with a creative awareness film that emphasized the importance of protecting intellectual property rights to safeguard the rights of creators in society. The film was written, filmed, and directed by a group of law students and included legal references outlining the legislative framework for protecting creators from infringement and violations. The team received direct support from the College’s administration, which provided all necessary resources to deliver a high-quality production that reflects the prestige of both the College and the University. |

Pharmacy Students Excel at ICPS-II Conference, Earning Global Recognition and Multiple Awards |

A group of outstanding Pharmacy students from Ajman University achieved remarkable success at the Second International Conference of Pharmacy Students (ICPS-II) hosted by the University of Sharjah. Noor Raisan (MSc) won first place in the Clinical Pharmacy Competition (graduate level), while third-year student Hana Mohamed secured first place in the Pharma Influencer Challenge. Second-year students Angela Mary Alexander, Asma Nalakath, and Fathimath Najiya, supervised by Sabrina Ait Gacem, won first place in the Health Awareness Video category. Doaa Rafeq Al Alimi (third year), supervised by Dr. Nihal Ibrahim, earned second place for Best Informative Poster. A senior team comprising Roaa Mohammed, Yomna Tariq, Taimaa Sufraji, Marym Ramadan, and Hana Mohamed took third place in the Team-Based Scientific Competition. |

Under the esteemed patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, Ajman University hosted the second edition of the Family and Society Conference, a landmark gathering that reinforced the University's pivotal role in shaping scholarly discourse around sustainability, family resilience, and societal development. Held in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Salem bin Sultan Al Qassimi, the conference convened Cabinet Members, deans, leading academics, and distinguished guests. Organized by the Humanities and Social Sciences Research Centre and the College of Humanities and Sciences, and in collaboration with the Emirates Association for Social Development in Ras Al Khaimah, Paris Cité University, and the Tarahum Charity Foundation, the conference carried the theme “Families Shaping a Sustainable Future,” reflecting Ajman University’s enduring commitment to advancing knowledge that drives societal transformation. |

The Department of Education hosted an impactful workshop as part of its ongoing efforts to promote inclusive education. The session, "Empowering Teachers to Support SEND: In-Class Adjustments and Accommodations for Inclusive Learning," was conducted by Noor Abusneneh, a specialist in inclusive education and learning support. Aimed at students enrolled in the Educational Psychology course within the Professional Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching program, the workshop offered practical tools and strategies to support learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) in mainstream classrooms. Abusneneh led interactive discussions and activities, emphasizing differentiated instruction, personalized support, and the importance of empathy and inclusion. This initiative supports the Department of Education's vision to prepare inclusive, equity-driven educators by equipping them with the skills, values, and mindset needed to meet diverse learning needs and promote inclusive education for all. |

As part of the College of Medicine’s ongoing commitment to community engagement, a group of students from Taryam American Private School, Sharjah, was welcomed for an interactive campus visit. Faculty from all departments, along with members of the Surgery Club and students across all phases, organized a comprehensive tour and a range of engaging activities. A key highlight was a hands-on session in minimally invasive surgery, where visiting students practiced using laparoscopic trainers. One student impressed the team by successfully stacking six sugar cubes within minutes, showcasing exceptional dexterity and coordination. |

The College of Architecture, Art & Design organized a hands-on architectural history workshop titled “Modeling the History,” led by Dr. Muna Salameh. The workshop, designed for students enrolled in the History of Architecture course, aimed to bridge historical theory with practical application. Participants were tasked with selecting and constructing scaled models of iconic architectural structures from different historical periods, including Mesopotamian buildings, Islamic domes, Gothic arches, and Renaissance masterpieces. The activity deepened students' understanding of construction methods and stylistic evolution while fostering a tangible appreciation of architectural heritage. |

As part of the “Be Career Ready” initiative, the Nursing Department at COPHS, in collaboration with Masar Career Excellence, hosted a workshop on NCLEX exam preparation titled “From Classroom to Career in the USA: NCLEX Readiness for Future Nurses.” Delivered by NCLEX expert Regina Callion, the interactive session engaged senior BSN students through case discussions and career guidance, offering key strategies for success on the U.S. nursing board exam. |

The Nursing and Entrepreneurship Student Clubs collaborated on their first joint event, “Will AI Replace Nurses in 2030?”—a topic chosen by the students to explore the evolving role of technology in healthcare. The event, held at the College of Business Administration (COB), was moderated by Kiran Khan from COB, and supervised by Dr. Rawan Abu Khait, Advisor of Entrepreneurship Student Club and Alaa Al Amiry, Advisor of Nursing Student Club. Ten senior students from the BSN Program participated in the debate, evenly split between supporting and opposing the proposition. The discussion offered fresh perspectives on AI’s potential impact in hospital settings, including enhancements in work efficiency, reductions in medical errors, and improvements in cost effectiveness. |

Senior Finance students attended a workshop on Power BI, delivered by Mohammed Alfan, a seasoned expert in data analytics and business intelligence, and a founding member of Rows and Columns, a specialized training and consulting firm. With extensive industry experience, Mr. Alfan is dedicated to equipping professionals and students with practical skills in Power BI, Excel, and other data visualization tools. His dynamic teaching approach, combined with real-world examples, made the workshop engaging and effective. During the session, students gained hands-on experience with Power BI, developing essential skills in data analysis and visualization. The training provided a strong foundation for utilizing the tool effectively in real-world scenarios. The success of the workshop underscores the College’s ongoing commitment to providing students with practical, industry-relevant skills that will serve them well in their future careers. |

Students from the Sociology Department at the College of Humanities and Sciences showcased outstanding projects as part of the Social Responsibility course, under the supervision of Dr. Mahra Al-Malik. Their initiatives included building a drinking water well in Kyrgyzstan and constructing housing for families in need in Burkina Faso, in collaboration with the Red Crescent. The exhibition, attended by Prof. Fares Howari, Dean of the College, reflects the students’ strong sense of civic responsibility and their ability to translate academic learning into real-world social impact. They also demonstrate the Department’s commitment to equipping future sociologists and social workers with the values and skills needed to drive positive change locally and globally. |

The Office of Sustainability hosted the highly anticipated finals of its Green Entrepreneurship Program. This initiative challenged University students throughout the UAE to cultivate environmentally and socially responsible business ventures, with a particular focus on addressing Ajman's specific environmental needs. Following an intensive two-day bootcamp held in February, participating teams spent the past two months honing their concepts under the guidance of seasoned business professionals. They presented their innovative solutions to a panel of judges and a distinguished audience. The event was attended by Mr. Rabi Al Khofash, Chief Operating Officer of Ajman University, along with representatives from the Ajman Chamber. The event proved an inspiring showcase of ingenuity and a reflection of Ajman University’s commitment to fostering the next generation of sustainable business leaders. |

Management Students Shine at Injaz-Nestlé ‘Sustainable Heroes’ Event with Innovation and Impact |

Two student teams from the Department of Management at the College of Business Administration participated in the Injaz-Nestlé national "Sustainable Heroes" event, organized in partnership with the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Climate Change. Several entrepreneurial workshops and team-building activities were held for students, followed by the setup of booths at the event to showcase their innovative work. This participation was part of the Injaz program, which has been fostering students' development in innovation and entrepreneurship over the past four months. One team was shortlisted for the final competition, and Hala Mohammad from AU won the "Pitch Perfect" team-building activity during the event. |
