Internationalization 

Ajman University Strengthens Regional Ties through Strategic Visits to Leading Institutions in Bahrain

As part of AU’s mission to strengthen regional partnerships, Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor—accompanied by the Advancement and Alumni Affairs team—visited ICLAMP, KPMG, Mannai Trading & Investment, Mohamed Al Khalifa Cardiac Center, Royal University for Women, and Vatel University in Bahrain. The visit focused on building strategic connections, aligning on shared goals, and exploring future opportunities for collaboration in education, innovation, and community development. These engagements underscore AU’s ongoing commitment to expanding a network of meaningful partnerships across the region.

Prof. Mustahsan Mir Participates in Panel Discussion on “Curriculum for the Future: Integrating Digital Competence in Higher Education"

As an invited panelist, Prof. Mustahsan Mir participated in a panel discussion on Curriculum for the Future: Integrating Digital Competence in Higher Education. The discussion was held at the start of the International Conference on the Leadership and Management of Projects in the Digital Age (ICLAMP) 2025. The conference was hosted by the Applied Science University in Bahrain. During the panel discussion, Prof. Mir explained how higher education institutions adapt their delivery modes to better prepare students for the demands of the modern workforce. He also described the key elements that should be included in curricula to ensure students develop both technical and digital skills.  

Dr. Alaeldin Maghaireh Honored at Prestigious International Law Conference

Dr. Alaeldin Mansour Maghaireh, Assistant Professor of Criminal Law at Ajman University, was honored with a Certificate of Excellence and a Certificate of Presentation at the International Conference on Law and Social Sciences (ICLSS). His recognition followed the presentation of his scholarly paper, “Weaponizing AI: The Rise of Deepfake Crimes and Global Legal Responses,” which drew significant attention for its relevance and academic rigor. The conference was hosted by the International Institute of Justice & Police Sciences (India) in collaboration with leading academic institutions from India and Europe. Dr. Maghaireh’s participation reflects the caliber of Ajman University’s faculty and their growing contributions to global research and impact.

 AU Women Empowerment Council Celebrates End-of-Cycle Achievements

As the AU Women Empowerment Council (AUWEC) concluded its impactful cycle, an event was held to celebrate its transformative contributions to Ajman University and beyond. Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Chair of the Council and Dean of Student Services, outlined the year’s milestones, from high-impact workshops and training sessions that empowered participants with knowledge and skills, to over 15 tailored community-support initiatives that extended AUWEC’s reach across campus and into society. The Council’s work continues to inspire a culture of inclusion, resilience, and leadership, laying a strong foundation for the cycle ahead.

Ajman University Innovation Center Showcases Student Excellence at UAE Hackathon 2025 Final

Ajman University Innovation Center proudly took part in the UAE Hackathon 2025 Final, with Fadi Tahboush, Director of Ajman University Innovation Center attended as a member of the esteemed jury panel. The event was a true celebration of innovation, youth creativity, and the UAE’s digital future. In addition, two student projects from Ajman University were selected to present at the final highlighting the incredible talent and innovative spirit of our students on a national platform.

Exploring AI and Mental Well-being: A Thoughtful Dialogue at AU

The Counseling Unit hosted a workshop titled "The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Mental Health and Well-being." The event brought together passionate minds to explore how AI is shaping the future of emotional support and mental wellness. Dr. Ahmad Alzubi delivered an inspiring presentation on the positive potential of AI in enhancing mental health care. He shared how AI-powered therapy tools and emotional support chatbots can open new doors, especially in underserved communities, while encouraging reflection on ethical use and human connection. In addition, Dr. Iesha Hasona skillfully moderated the discussion and created a safe space for open dialogue. The Counseling Unit remains dedicated to fostering meaningful conversations on mental health in this digital age.

The College of Law Hosts a Lecture on Legal Aspects of Public Employment

The College of Law at Ajman University welcomed Dr. Mohammed Obaid Mohammed, Legal Advisor at the General Secretariat of the Executive Council – Government of Ajman, for a specialized lecture titled “The Legal Framework of Public Employment in the UAE.” The lecture aimed to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical applications in administrative law, helping students deepen their understanding of legal principles within real-world contexts.

Psychology Department Celebrates Its Alumni in a Heartfelt Gathering

The Psychology Department at the College of Humanities and Sciences, in collaboration with the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs, hosted a special gathering to honor its proud alumni. The event was a heartfelt moment of reconnection and recognition, bringing together former graduates to celebrate their journey and continued bond with Ajman University. Moderated by Dr. Dalia Bedewy, the session provided a platform for alumni to share their personal stories, reflecting on their academic experiences, growth, and the impact of their psychology education on their professional lives. The gathering reignited a strong sense of purpose and belonging, reminding everyone that they’ll always be part of the AU family.

AU Pediatric Club Leads Pink Shirt Day Initiative at Sharjah International Private School

Students from the Pediatric Club, guided by Dr. Maryam Amirrad, Clinical Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine, organized a successful Pink Shirt Day event at Sharjah International Private School. The initiative aimed to raise awareness about bullying prevention while promoting values of kindness, empathy, and inclusion. The event featured a series of engaging activities designed to encourage students to speak up against bullying and foster a culture of mutual support. The initiative reflects the Club’s ongoing commitment to creating positive social impact within and beyond the university community.

The Teaching and Learning Centre Represents Ajman University at the 3rd Annual Conference on Best Practices in Teaching and Learning 2025

Ajman University, represented by the Teaching and Learning Centre, participated in the 3rd Best Practices in Teaching and Learning Conference held at the American University of Sharjah and Amity University Dubai.
Dr. Mahinour Amin, Director of the Centre, contributed to two panel discussions: “From Input to Outcome-based System: The Role of Teaching and Learning” and “Balancing Innovation and Integrity: The Ethical Use of Technology in Education.”
Masana, Multimedia Specialist, presented a poster titled “Transforming Learning Through Collaboration,” showcasing his joint work with Dr. Alexander Luke from the College of Dentistry on enhancing student engagement through Moodle’s Database Activity. Their participation reflects Ajman University’s commitment to advancing effective and ethical educational practices.

Industry Expert Engages with Students at the College of Business Administration

The College of Business Administration, through its Management Department and Industry Outreach Committee, remains committed to enriching academic learning by engaging community experts in its courses. As part of this initiative, the Project Management course—aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 8, 9, 11, and 17, welcomed a distinguished guest speaker. Dr. Maged Saad hosted Eng. Ayman Kolko, Project Director at one of the region’s leading developers and consultancies in the hospitality sector. Eng. Kolko shared valuable insights, best practices, and lessons learned from his extensive experience in project management. The session was highly interactive, offering students a unique opportunity to bridge theory with real-world application. Students gained substantial insights into the practical challenges and strategies involved in delivering successful projects across industries.

Maya Haddad Represents AU at HSE Expo 2025 Circular Economy Session

Maya Haddad, Sustainability Manager at Ajman University, joined as the moderator for a session entitled “Sustainability Synergy: Integrating Resource Management and Renewable Innovation for a Circular Economy” at the HSE Expo 2025, hosted by Sharjah National Oil Corporation. As the region’s leading platform for Health, Safety, and Environmental excellence, the event brought together experts and innovators under the theme “Innovating for a Sustainable HSE Future.” Ajman University participated as a Knowledge Partner. The session sparked engaging discussions on circular economy practices and sustainable innovation. The Office of Sustainability’s presence at the event reaffirmed its commitment to driving environmental leadership across education and industry.

The College of Business Administration Hosts a Workshop on Sustainability and Green Entrepreneurship

The Department of Management at the College of Business Administration invited Ms. Jenny Valdez – District Manager at Starbucks – in collaboration with Injaz Al Arab Institute, to deliver a workshop on “Empowering the Future Generation: Promoting Sustainability and SDGs” for students enrolled in the Materials Management and Purchasing course. Ms. Valdez facilitated an engaging discussion with students, focusing on how to develop innovative products made from recycled materials, as well as implementing energy-efficient processes in operations. Students gained insights into the latest sustainability strategies Starbucks is adopting to help create a healthier and more vibrant future for generations to come.
