AIRC Honors Abdulrahman Wadi for His Contributions to AI Awareness and Road Safety

The Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC) proudly honored Abdulrahman Wadi for his outstanding contributions to AI awareness and road safety. His awareness video on AI-driven smart radar technologies surpassed 777,000 views, educating the public on AI-detected traffic violations. Recognized by Dubai Police, Abdulrahman was further celebrated by Prof. Mohammed Al Betar, Head of AIRC, in a special recognition ceremony.

With vibrant displays, captivating performances, and engaging activities, the winning clubs demonstrated their commitment to preserving traditions while fostering an inclusive and enriching environment.

A Tribute to the Unbreakable Bond: Celebrating Mothers of Students of Determination

The Center for Inclusive Learning, in collaboration with the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council, organized a heartfelt Mother’s Day celebration to honor the incredible mothers of our students of determination. These mothers embody resilience, love, and unwavering dedication, standing as pillars of strength in their children’s journeys. The event was a tribute to their boundless support, and the profound impact they have on shaping their children's futures. Through words of gratitude, shared stories, and moments of appreciation, we celebrated their irreplaceable role, reminding them that their efforts are seen, valued, and deeply cherished.

The Department of Languages and Culture Celebrates World Storytelling Day

The Department of Languages and Culture at the College of Humanities and Sciences marked World Storytelling Day on March 20 with a vibrant event celebrating the power of stories across cultures. Students came together to tell and read stories from diverse literatures, sharing tales that reflected different traditions, histories, and values. The event fostered a deeper appreciation for storytelling as a bridge between cultures and a means of preserving heritage. This event showcases the department's commitment to cross-cultural understanding through literature and storytelling, paving the way for future initiatives encouraging global storytelling.

AU Women’s Swimming Team Clinches Third Place at the University of Sharjah’s Friendly Competition

The AU Women’s Swimming Team secured third place at the University of Sharjah’s friendly competition on March 24, 2025. Team members, Hour Hassan Chwihna, Nazanin Mohammad Reza Ajam, Maitha Majed Ali Almarzooqi, Mais Abdulkader Dawara, Zina Mohamed Atta Elbehesy, Ruaa Abdul Muti Ramadan, and Rutendo Felicity Mukona, won two bronze medals in the 4x25 IM Relay and 4x25 Freestyle Relay. Nazanin Mohammad Reza Ajam also earned individual bronze medals in the 100m and 50m Breaststroke. This achievement reflects the Unit of Athletics' commitment to fostering talent, teamwork, and dedication within the AU community.

The Department of Languages and Culture Hosts Book Donation Station for UAE Reading Month

As part of the UAE Reads initiative, the Department of Languages and Culture organized a Book Donation Station to promote reading and knowledge-sharing. Students, faculty, and staff contributed a diverse collection of books, including literature, history, science, and self-development. These donated books will be shared with students and the AU community, supporting a culture of learning and giving. This initiative reflects the department's commitment to literacy and education, in line with the UAE's vision for cultural enrichment.

UAE Reading Month Celebrated with Engaging Event at the Department of Languages and Culture 

In honor of UAE Reading Month, encouraged by the Ministry of Culture, the Department of Language and Culture hosted a vibrant three-day reading station event led by Insaf Chahdoura, Lecturer in Visual Arts, Aesthetics, and Performing Arts. The event featured themed sessions: Day 1 focused on classic poetry, Day 2 on modern poetry, and Day 3 on literary prose. Faculty guided the sessions, encouraging students to read excerpts from their favorite books, fostering an interactive atmosphere. The event highlighted the importance of reading, improved dialogue skills, and boosted students' public speaking confidence.

Community at Heart

The Office of Community Engagement and International Charity Organization Conduct Eid Shopping for Orphan

The Office of Community Engagement organized two activities to celebrate Happiness Day. On campus, flowers were distributed, and a small activation was held where students shared what makes them happy, creating a positive vibe. In addition, in collaboration with the International Charity Organization, volunteers assisted 30 orphans in selecting Eid outfits. It was a day filled with joy and community spirit, highlighting the importance of giving back and spreading happiness.  

The Office of Community Engagement and College of Humanities and Sciences Collaborate for Zayed Humanitarian Day Food Distribution Initiative

The Office of Community Engagement, in collaboration with the College of Humanities and Sciences led by Dr. Mahra Aal Malek, organized the second food packaging and distribution event during Ramadan. This initiative, focused on providing food security to lower-income communities, reflects a deep commitment to serving the community and embodies the values of compassion and charity inspired by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

The Office of Sustainability Leads the Launch of the UCN Decarbonization Academy in Collaboration with Leading Universities in the UAE

The Office of Sustainability is leading the University Climate Network (UCN) Decarbonization Academy, launched in collaboration with the American University of Sharjah and New York University Abu Dhabi. This initiative supports the UAE's 2025 Community Year and aims to achieve carbon neutrality while promoting environmental sustainability and climate awareness. The academy offers virtual workshops led by sustainability experts, focusing on key topics like climate action plans, emissions calculation, and energy efficiency. Maya Haddad, Sustainability Manager, presented the second session on "Introduction to Climate and Carbon Literacy," providing foundational knowledge on climate change and carbon emissions for participants at all levels.

The Office of Sustainability to Host Greenpeace MENA UAE Wellbeing Economy Awards Ceremony

The Office of Sustainability is pleased to announce the Greenpeace MENA 2024/2025 UAE Wellbeing Economy Awards Ceremony, held in collaboration with the UAE Universities Climate Network. Taking place on Thursday, April 10, 2025, at 9:00 AM at Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions,  this distinguished event will welcome esteemed guests from across the UAE. With multiple submissions received, the winners will be unveiled on the day of the ceremony. Bringing together high-level dignitaries, thought leaders, and change-makers, this event will celebrate impactful contributions to sustainability and economic well-being.
