Ajman University Earns Prestigious Accreditation from Australian Dental Council International |

Ajman University is proud to announce that the College of Dentistry has earned seven-year accreditation (from 1 January 2025 to 31 December 2031) from the prestigious Australian Dental Council International (ADCI). The accreditation covers AU’s Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Master of Science in Endodontics, and Master of Science in Pediatric Dentistry programs. This historic milestone assumes heightened significance as AU is the first institution in the UAE to achieve ADCI accreditation for graduate programs. |

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Gerard Prendergast as the Dean of the College of Business Administration and Professor of Marketing. Dr. Prendergast brings extensive international experience in teaching and research. Throughout his distinguished career, Dr. Prendergast has taught at universities in New Zealand, the UK, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Dr. Prendergast specializes in teaching marketing related subjects, including Principles of Marketing, Digital Marketing Communication, Social Media Marketing, Consumer Behavior, Strategic Marketing, Service Leadership, Marketing Research, and Qualitative Research Methods. Dr. Prendergast's research interests focus on socially responsible marketing, digital marketing, marketing communication, strategy, and the applications of evolutionary psychology in marketing. Dr. Prendergast's expertise will drive innovation and excellence at the College of Business Administration. |

The College of Mass Communication has been honored by Dubai Municipality for its outstanding contributions to UAE Innovation Month 2025, recognizing its commitment to innovation, technology, and creative solutions in media and communication. Led by Dr. Mervat Youssef, the College’s participation featured cutting-edge digital experiences, including Hagar Al Shalali’s graduation project, Msyal, an immersive VR and AR experience that showcased the UAE’s rich culture, landscapes, and values of tolerance. Additionally, Mass Communication students played a key role in the Innovation Lab 2025, addressing challenges such as the Emirate’s Addressing System Challenge to enhance urban planning and navigation, demonstrating how media, design, and technology can drive real-world solutions. |

Ajman University is proud to be part of the prestigious Yathiqu research project, funded by the Dubai Future Foundation. Led by the University of Wollongong in Dubai, this initiative explores AI-driven simulations to enhance trust and AI literacy in education, aligning with AU’s vision for AI integration in higher education. As part of this initiative, Prof. Nadir Kheir (College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences-COPHS), who serves as AU’s Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on the project, will contribute to key research activities, including focus groups and scenario-building exercises that will enhance the study’s impact on AI-driven learning methodologies.The Yathiqu project, led by the University of Wollongong in Dubai, explores AI-driven simulations in building trust and enhancing AI literacy in education. Aligned with AU’s vision for AI integration in higher education, it strengthens AU’s role in advancing educational technologies. Running from March 2025 to March 2028, the project will provide valuable insights into AI’s ethical and practical applications in education, empowering students and educators in the digital age. |

The Teaching and Learning Centre hosted an insightful workshop titled “Navigating Advance HE’s Framework for Learning in Higher Education.” The session was delivered by Fiona Lennoxsmith and Kristian Rumble from Advance HE, who provided an insightful and engaging training experience. During the workshop, Fiona and Kristian introduced Advance HE, explaining its role in supporting higher education professionals. They also provided an overview of the Professional Standards Framework (PSF) and highlighted its significance in teaching and learning within higher education. Overall, through interactive discussions and practical examples, participants gained a deeper understanding of effective leadership in academic settings and an insight into effectively applying the Advance HE framework to enhance teaching practices and professional development. |
