Ajman University’s Accounting Program Earns ICAEW Accreditation

Ajman University’s Accounting program has been accredited by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for Credit for Prior Learning (CPL), granting students exemptions from five courses in the prestigious Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA) qualification. This accreditation underscores the program’s high academic standards and alignment with global accounting practices while reinforcing AU’s status as an ICAEW Certified Partner in Learning (PiL). With Ajman University and its course exemptions now officially listed in the ICAEW CPL Directory, the program’s global recognition and reputation in accounting education continue to grow.

Asma Al Shamsi Recognizes as Best Youth Council Member by the Federal Youth Authority

Asma Al Shamsi, Manager of Athletics, was honored by the Federal Youth Authority as the Best Member at the level of local and subsidiary Youth Councils for her contributions during the sixth council cycle (2023-2025). The recognition was presented by H.E. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of Youth, and H.E. Khalid Al Nuaimi, Director of the Federal Youth Authority, during the Youth Councils Forum, which also marked the launch of the seventh cycle. Additionally, Ajman Youth Council won the award for Best Sustainable Initiative for its event, Youth Lab, which Asma had the privilege of organizing. This recognition highlights the vital role of youth in creating a positive impact on society and reinforces the importance of empowering them to contribute to development and innovation.

Dr. Dalia Bedewy Honored for Groundbreaking Research on Stress, Childhood Trauma, and Alzheimer’s Disease Development in Women

Dr. Dalia Bedewy, Associate Professor of Psychology, Manager of the Counseling Unit at Ajman University, and a member of the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council (AUWEC), has been honored at the 5th Forum for Women in Research, QUWA: Together Innovating to Shape the Future, for her research titled "The Long-Term Impact of Stress and Childhood Trauma on Memory and Alzheimer's Disease Development in Women." This international collaboration between the UAE, Egypt, and Australia explores the effects of early-life stress on cognitive health, offering critical insights into Alzheimer’s disease prevention. Dr. Bedewy’s recognition highlights Ajman University’s commitment to supporting women in research and fostering global academic partnerships.

The award, which received 86 research abstracts from various universities, recognizes outstanding contributions in education, sociology, and psychology, aligning with the UAE’s National Higher Education Strategy 2030. The winners, including students from Ajman University and UAE University, presented research on topics such as artificial intelligence in education, algorithmic personalization, and mental health strategies. The College of Humanities and Sciences, in Collaboration with AUWEC, Hosts a Session on L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Initiative

The College of Humanities and Sciences, in collaboration with the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council (AUWEC), hosted a session on the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science initiative. Distinguished speakers from L’Oréal Middle East, Ms. Zeina Emil Samarah, Communications Graduate Trainee, who shared insights on L’Oréal’s sustainability efforts and commitment to innovation, and Ms. Tamara Salman, External Communications and Public Affairs Manager, who discussed her experience managing the L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science program and its impact on female researchers worldwide, were featured.

Ajman University’s Innovation Center Celebrates the Official Licensing of "Echo Sphere"

Ajman University celebrated the official licensing of Echo Sphere, a start-up specializing in e-gaming development for People of Determination. The event was attended by Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, alongside representatives from the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and the Department of Economic Development in Ajman. Founded by Mohamed Al Marzouqi, a UAE national who turned his visual impairment challenge into an inspiring success story, Echo Sphere's achievement was made possible through incubation support from Ajman University’s Innovation Center (AUIC) after its introduction during the UAE Hackathon 2024. This milestone enables him to continue delivering innovative digital solutions.

The College of Law Organizes an Awareness Lecture on Drafting and Preparing a Defense Memorandum in a Criminal Case

As part of its efforts to equip students with essential legal skills, the College of Law at Ajman University hosted an awareness lecture titled "Drafting and Preparing a Defense Memorandum in a Criminal Case," delivered by H.E. Judge Dr. Abdullah Saif Al Shamsi, Chief Judge of the Primary Criminal Court of Appeals – Dubai Courts. The session focused on enhancing students' understanding of legal writing and defense strategies, emphasizing key legal principles, the construction of well-founded arguments, and the essential components of a defense memorandum.

Studiosity: Scaling up feedback and support with AI for learning

Hanaa Mansour, Lecturer at the College of Humanities and Sciences, joined Katya Burfitt, Regional Director of Studiosity, in a webinar on AI-driven feedback and support for learning. The discussion focused on how universities are adopting AI to enhance student learning and educator well-being. Ajman University is a pioneer in implementing ethical AI solutions that prioritize student learning, ensuring the responsible and effective use of technology in education. Hanaa invited pharmacy students Doaa Al-Alimi and Hana Mohamed to share their experiences with Studiosity's on-demand feedback. The webinar, supported by the Australian Trade and Investment Commission, emphasized AI’s role in scaling feedback while ensuring quality and accessibility. 

The College of Mass Communication Organizes a Field Visit to the Ninth Edition of the International Photography Festival "Xposure"

The College of Mass Communication organized a field visit for students and Alumni to attend the activities of the Ninth edition of the International Photography Festival "Xposure" which was held in the Aljada area in the Emirate of Sharjah during the period "February 20 to 26" under the slogan "Nothing is bigger than a picture." Participants benefited from photography exhibitions, events, and workshops organized by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau with the participation of more than 300 pioneer photographers, directors, and creatives worldwide.

Dr. Muna Salameh Leads Design 3 Students on an Educational Site Visit to Ajman Academy

As part of the Design 3 course curriculum, Dr. Muna Salameh led second-year architecture students from Ajman University on a site visit to Ajman Academy, enhancing their understanding of school design. During the visit, Dr. Salameh conducted a detailed architectural analysis of the facility, covering design elements, sustainable building solutions, material selection, and functional distribution. This hands-on experience allowed students to observe real-world applications of architectural principles, sharpening their design thinking and problem-solving skills. Ajman Academy’s innovative approach to sustainability and educational space planning inspired students, who will apply their insights to their ongoing coursework.

Accounting Students Participate in ESG Boardgame Workshop

A team of accounting students from the College of Business Administration  took part in the ESG Boardgame Workshop, organized by the ICAEW at Canadian University Dubai. The interactive session explored ESG principles through real-world business simulations, fostering sustainability, corporate responsibility, and ethical governance. Supervised by Ms. Ariba Sabah, the students engaged with industry professionals, aligning with AU’s MoU with ICAEW to enhance accounting education. Prof. Ibrahim Elsiddig, Head of the Accounting Department, emphasized the workshop’s role in equipping students with essential business skills.

Ajman University Mobile Dental Clinic Visits Sharjah Factory to Provide Free Dental Care

Ajman University Mobile dental Clinic team, including 10 dedicated clinical students, visited the Vienna Aluminum & Glass Factory in Sharjah. Students provided oral hygiene education, motivation, and performed full mouth scaling and polishing for 21 patients, making it a valuable learning experience for them. This initiative is part of the University’s commitment to delivering exceptional healthcare services and promoting health awareness within the community.

The Office of Sustainability in Collaboration with UCN Launched a Free Webinar Series to Promote Climate Awareness

The Office of Sustainability launched a free webinar series under the Carbon Neutrality Pillar of the Universities Climate Network (UCN), in collaboration with Ajman University (AU), the American University of Sharjah (AUS), and New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD). This initiative aimed to promote climate awareness and carbon literacy for all, aligning with the UAE Year of Community to ensure accessibility for all members of society. Additionally, the UCN Decarbonization Academy offered a series of online workshops on decarbonization, delivered by sustainability experts from academia. On February 24, 2025, Antonios Vouloudis, Senior Director of Sustainability & Stewardship at NYU Abu Dhabi, led the first session on Drafting a Climate Action Plan, which attracted approximately 110 attendees and was highly successful.
