Ajman University's annual Career Fair 2025 proved a resounding success, drawing more than 75 top employers to one of the UAE's largest career events. Held at the Sheikh Zayed Center for Conferences and Exhibitions on the AU campus on February 11, the AU Career Fair 2025 showcased Ajman University’s reputation as the #1 university in the UAE for Employer Reputation as per QS rankings. The event attracted significant industry interest, with Arada and Ramada as Gold sponsors, Ajman Bank and Clinica Medical Centre as Silver sponsors, and Ajman Chamber and Tafaseel as Bronze sponsors, alongside Ajman News as the Media sponsor.

Ajman University Hosts IFEMH 2025 on AI and Academic Integrity IFEMH 2025

Ajman University’s Deanship of Student Services hosted the fourth edition of the International Forum on Education and Mental Health (IFEMH 2025) under the theme Integrating Artificial Intelligence and Upholding Academic Integrity. The event aligned with the UAE’s National Strategy for Wellbeing 2031 and explored AI’s role in education and healthcare, focusing on ethics in teacher education, AI integration policies, digital mental health solutions, and the future of AI-enhanced learning.

Ajman University welcomed a distinguished delegation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd) for a signing ceremony, strengthening collaboration in dentistry. Dr. Salem Abu Fanas, Dean of the College of Dentistry, and Dr. Mohammad Kashif Shafiq Khot, Senior Lecturer, greeted the RCSEd team, including Prof. Grant McIntyre, Jan Cutting, Craig Brodie, and Amanda McIntyre. Ajman University Faculty Member Recognized for Engineering Research Excellence

Dr. Mohamad Khairi Ishak from Ajman University's College of Engineering and IT has earned the Excellence and Creative Engineering Award (ECEA) for his impactful work in engineering research. He achieved second place in the "Best Scientific Research in Engineering Field" category during the awards ceremony in Dubai on February 5. Organized by the UAE Society of Engineers at the Mohamed Bin Rashid Library, the ECEA Awards honor individuals who demonstrate innovation and leadership in engineering. Dr. Ishak's research, which delves into the use of AI for automated cervical cancer detection, supports the UAE's initiative to leverage advanced technology in healthcare for early cancer detection and improved patient outcomes.

Prof. Nadir Kheir Highlights Student Wellbeing and Academic Success at Studiosity Forum

Prof. Nadir Kheir, Manager of the Student Success Center , was the keynote speaker at the Student Wellbeing Forum organized by Studiosity at the Heritage Hotel in Dubai. He shared the story of the Student Success Centre (SSC) and its journey to illustrate how academic success fosters both academic and personal growth in students. He emphasized the crucial connection between student wellbeing and academic performance, highlighting how supportive learning environments, peer tutoring programs, and academic integrity initiatives empower students to achieve their full potential.

Dr. Muna Salameh Participates in the 11th International Talk on Green Business, Sustainability, and Climate Action

Dr. Muna Salameh, Global Ambassador of Sustainability and Ph.D. in Architectural and Sustainable Built Environment at Ajman University, participated as a distinguished speaker in the 11th International Talk on Green Business, Sustainability, and Climate Action. Organized in collaboration with the Global Ambassadors of Sustainability (GAoS) and the Global Green Chamber of Commerce, the event brought together experts to discuss environmental challenges and sustainable solutions. Dr. Muna shared insights on sustainability in architecture and the built environment, reinforcing her commitment to advancing sustainability through education, research, and global initiatives. With Dr. Wesam Al Madhoun, Founder of GAoS, in attendance, the event emphasized sustainable practices, green business models, and collaboration in addressing global environmental challenges.

Ajman University College of Dentistry Professors Publish 99th Percentile Scopus Article with 18.7 Impact Factor on PEEK in Dental Implantology

Ajman University’s College of Dentistry continues to lead in dental biomaterials research, with Prof. Muhammad Sohail Zafar and Dr. Muhammad Amber Fareed publishing a high-impact review in International Materials Reviews, a top-tier journal in materials science. Their paper critically examines the applications, modifications, and manufacturing of Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in dental implantology, highlighting its potential as an alternative to titanium implants.

Supported by an Ajman University-funded research grant, Prof. Zafar and Dr. Fareed are further exploring bioactive 3D-printed PEEK implants. This research reinforces the University’s commitment to innovation in dental science and biomaterials.

Habiba Ahmed Abdelsalam Mansour Wins RCSEd UAE Dental Clinical Skills Competition

Habiba Ahmed Abdelsalam Mansour from Ajman University secured first place in the RCSEd UAE Dental Clinical Skills Competition, held on February 7, 2025. This event brought together 15 outstanding dental students from five esteemed institutions across the UAE, providing a platform to showcase their exceptional clinical skills and knowledge in a competitive setting. The competition was organized by Dr. Huda Abutayyem, with support from Dr. Vijay Desai and Dr. Jeny George, under the esteemed guidance of Dean Dr. Salem Abufanas, and with contributions from Dr. Ahmad Al Jaghsi, Dr. Muhammad Fareed, and Dr. Tareq.

College of Dentistry Third-Year Undergraduate Students Publish Research in a Q1 Journal 

Zainalabdeen Hayder Hussein Al-Zainal and Sarib Farid Ashraf, third-year undergraduate students from the College of Dentistry, published research titled “Clinical efficacy of lasers in the management of recurrent aphthous ulcers of oral cavity: A Systematic Review of Randomized Control Trials” in the Springer journal Lasers in Medical Science.   As Dentistry is a five-year program, research is incorporated as a taught course during the fifth year of the undergraduate curriculum. Showcasing a strong positive attitude and motivation toward self-directed learning, these students undertook this research during the summer semester of their second year under the guidance of Dr Divya Gopinath, Assistant Professor, College of Dentistry. This paper underscores the College of Dentistry’s commitment to fostering student success and delivering student-centric quality education with suitable hands-on learning opportunities, aimed at developing well-rounded and career-ready graduates who are self-motivatedو life-long learners. Sima Ahmad Zakzak Represents Ajman University as a Panelist in Sustainable Architecture Event

Sima Ahmad Zakzak, a senior architecture student at Ajman University, represented the University as a panelist in the "Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow: Women Driving Change in the Built Environment" event, organized by the Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) Women’s Network. Under the supervision of Dr. Muna Salameh, Sima emphasized the role of innovation in sustainable architecture, highlighting the need to integrate nature, human well-being, and environmental health. She also stressed the importance of mentorship in empowering women in the industry.

Future Healthcare Professionals Collaborate at Ajman University's Interprofessional Event 

Ajman University organized an Interprofessional Education (IPE) event themed "Learning Together for Working Together in a Patient-Centered Healthcare System." Students from Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Dentistry collaborated in 35 interprofessional groups to assess a complex case study on "Diabetes with Polytrauma," guided by faculty instructors.

Ajman University Responds to UAE Students’ Record-High Demand for AI Support in Learning

A recent Studiosity’s Student Wellbeing Report, carried out by YouGov, reveals that students in the UAE have the highest global expectations for AI support in universities, with 70% expecting AI-based tools to assist their learning (n=554). This reflects the highest level of expectation for AI-based support compared to other markets surveyed, from a sample of over 10,000 students across the USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. To meet students’ expectations while ensuring ethical AI integration, Ajman University launched its Studiosity service in 2024. The service provides university-approved AI-driven feedback on student assessments within minutes and is available 24/7.

Ajman University Launches Interdisciplinary AI Project in Medical Diagnosis

Prof. Mohammed Azmi Al Betar, Head of the Artificial Intelligence Research Center, and Prof. Ghazi Al Naymat, Associate Professor and BSDA Program Coordinator at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, in collaboration with Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of Clinical and Medical Training at the College of Medicine, have launched an innovative project focused on the implementation of AI in medical diagnosis and prognosis. The Office of Medical Services Hosts Cancer Prevention Awareness Event in Collaboration with MOHAP – Ajman

The Office of Medical Services, in partnership with the Ministry of Health and Prevention – Ajman, organized a Cancer Prevention Awareness Event in observance of World Cancer Day 2025, under the theme "United by Unique."

This initiative emphasized the importance of personalized care and promoted healthy lifestyle habits to prevent non-communicable diseases, particularly cancer. The event featured an insightful session led by Dr. Mahmut Enes Beyazit , Specialist General Surgeon at Ajman Specialty General Hospital.

Dr. Beyazit addressed the audience’s questions, fostering meaningful discussions on cancer prevention strategies. The event reinforced AU’s commitment to health awareness and proactive disease prevention within the community.

Mass Communication Students Explore Dubai’s Heritage and Draw Inspiration for the Future

In line with the principle of learning through practice and application, and with a focus on providing a rich educational experience, the College of Mass Communication organized a field trip to Dubai’s heritage area. The visit, which was supervised by Professor Maha Abdelmajid and Mrs. Asmaa Al Tamna, covered key locations such as the Al Seef area, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the Grand Souk, and Al Shindagha. Students from courses on Communication Theories, Research Methods, and Digital Photography participated in the field trip.

Inside the Lifeline: AU Students Explore National Ambulance’s Dispatch Center at Abu Dhabi

Aligned with the UAE’s Year of Community and as part of the Community-Based First Aid course under the General Education Program (GEP), Ajman University students visited the National Ambulance Dispatch Center in Abu Dhabi to gain insight into the critical role of dispatchers in emergency medical services (EMS). Led by Alaa Al Amiry, Senior Lecturer at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and organized by the College of Humanities and Sciences, the visit provided an exclusive look at EMS operations, from call processing to dispatch, highlighting the essential link between the community and EMS and the importance of swift communication in emergencies. The initiative aimed to enhance public awareness and preparedness, fostering a more resilient society. 

The College of Dentistry Hosts a Symposium on TMD and Orofacial Pain

The College of Dentistry hosted a symposium on TMD and Orofacial Pain, featuring Dr. Davis Thomas, Adjunct Faculty from Rutgers University, USA, who led a session on orofacial pain and its role in interdisciplinary dentistry, including a live patient workshop. Prof. John Charles Devine and Prof. Colin Maciver from the Oral and Maxillofacial Unit at Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, Abu Dhabi, discussed maxillofacial reconstruction, emphasizing 3D technology. Organized by Dr. Lovely Annamma, Dr. Vijay Desai, Dr. Sudhir Rama Verma, and Dr. Mohamad Jaber, the event fostered insightful discussions and future collaboration between Ajman University and SSMC.

Dr. Amer Al Ani and Dr. Gehan Elakabawy Participate in "Preparing the Doctors for Tomorrow" Workshop

Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of Clinical and Medical Training, and Dr. Gehan Elakabawy, Head of the Curriculum Committee at the College of Medicine, participated in the "Preparing the Doctors for Tomorrow" workshop, organized by McGraw Hill Education in Dubai. The workshop provided a platform for exchanging ideas. The event was attended by representatives from medical colleges across Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Lebanon, and the UAE, fostering valuable discussions on the future of medical education.

The Medical Club at the College of Medicine Organizes Cancer Awareness Event

The Medical Club at the College of Medicine (CoM) organized a cancer awareness event in collaboration with affiliated medical centers and hospitals. Dr. Khaldoun Tabbah, Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine, organized the event in partnership with the Internal Club and in collaboration with the Surgical and Pediatric Clubs, emphasizing the importance of early detection and intervention while also addressing the psychological impact of a cancer diagnosis on patients' quality of life. Supported by the Advanced Oncology Center in Dubai, the event featured a talk by the CEO on radiology services for cancer patients, providing students with valuable exposure to real-world medical practices in the UAE.

The Office of Community Engagement Celebrates Hag Al Laila with Community Initiative

The Office of Community Engagement celebrated Hag Al Laila under the “Donate Your Time” initiative. AU volunteers packed 2,000 sweet packs, which were distributed at Manar Al Eman School by the volunteers. Additionally, Manar Al Eman students were invited to the AU campus, where they performed a traditional dance and helped distribute sweet packs to the AU community, fostering a spirit of cultural appreciation and community engagement.

The Office of Community Engagement Participates in the Innovation Hackathon 2025 

The Office of Community Engagement participated in the Innovation Hackathon 2025, presented by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs & Port Security, in collaboration with the Department of Economic Development and Ajman University, the event was part of UAE Innovation Month, "UAE Innovates 2025." More than 30 Ajman University students took part, contributing valuable insights and innovative ideas. The hackathon brought together directors, employees, and students specializing in technology and artificial intelligence to develop creative solutions, enhance operational efficiency, and improve services. The initiative aimed to facilitate customer journeys, eliminate bureaucracy, embrace digital transformation, and adopt smart solutions in line with the UAE’s leadership vision.
