Ajman University Explores Strategic Academic Partnerships in Jordan

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, led a delegation to Jordan, accompanied by Dr. Khaled Assaleh, Rabi Alkhofash, and Jamel Suleiman, for a productive visit to several top universities. The delegation visited Al Ahliyya Amman University, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Princess Sumaya University for Technology, and the University of Jordan. In meetings with esteemed leadership, including Dr. Sari Hamdan, Dr. Khalid El-Salem, Dr. Wejdan Abu Elhaija, and Dr. Nathir Obeidat, the delegation discussed opportunities for research collaboration, student exchange, faculty mobility, and joint degree programs. Additionally, the delegation had a valuable meeting at the Association of Arab Universities, where promising initiatives were discussed. These visits reaffirm Ajman University’s commitment to strengthening global partnerships and fostering academic excellence, research collaboration, and international student success.

A distinguished delegation from JUST was welcomed to our campus, marking a pivotal moment in the ongoing partnership. AU Chancellor Dr. Karim Seghir and JUST President Dr. Khalid Elsalem, along with senior officials, engaged in productive discussions on student and faculty exchanges, joint research projects, and shared academic initiatives. Ajman University Hosts Delegation from Sahmyook University

Ajman University hosted a delegation from Sahmyook University, led by President Haejong Je, to discuss potential collaborations with Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and other AU representatives. Twelve Sahmyook students participated in a cultural exchange program organized by the Office of International Academic Affairs, Student Life, and the Korean Club. The program highlighted Ajman University and UAE heritage through Emirati cuisine and activities, with contributions from AU students, including a calligraphy artist and members of the Musical Club. This visit strengthened academic and cultural ties, fostering deeper connections between students and faculty.

Ajman University welcomed Prof. Helmi Hammami, Dean of ESLSCA Business School, to explore avenues for academic collaboration. Discussions with Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, focused on expanding student exchange opportunities, fostering faculty partnerships, and promoting joint research initiatives. A meeting with Prof. Gerard Prendergast, Dean of the College of Business Administration, further emphasized AU’s commitment to providing students with global learning experiences.

Ajman University Hosts Delegation from Chulalongkorn University to Discuss Collaborative Opportunities

Ajman University welcomed a delegation from Chulalongkorn University to explore collaboration opportunities with its research centers, including the Centre for Medical and Bio-Allied Health Sciences Research, the Artificial Intelligence Research Center, and the Digital Transformation Research Center. The delegation met with Dr. Salem Abufanas, Dean of the College of Dentistry, and Prof. Kamran Arshad, Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, along with several faculty members, to discuss potential partnerships in research and academic exchange. This was followed by a meeting with Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, to further strengthen collaboration. The visit aimed to enhance AU’s research capabilities, provide students with international learning opportunities, and open doors for joint projects that drive innovation and academic excellence.

Dr. Muna Salameh Wins Prestigious Excellence and Creative Engineering Award (ECEA)

Dr. Muna Salameh has been honored with the Excellence and Creative Engineering Award (ECEA) in the Research category, organized by the UAE Society of Engineers. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding contributions to engineering and sustainable design. Dr. Muna’s groundbreaking research, From Heritage to Sustainability: The Future of the Past in the Hot Arid Climate of the UAE, was selected as a winning project in the 3rd edition of ECEA. The award ceremony took place at Mohamed Bin Rashid Library in Dubai, attended by Sheikh Rashid bin Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Eng. Abdullah Yousef Al Ali, President of the UAE Society of Engineers, along with distinguished experts, academics, and industry leaders.

Prof. Marei Ahmed Reappointed to the IPPA Council of Advisors Committee

Prof. Marei Ahmed has been reappointed for the fourth time to the Council of Advisors Committee in Positive Psychology at the International Positive Psychology Association (IPPA) for the 2025–2026 term. He is the only Arab member globally recognized for this prestigious role since the founding of the World Assembly in 2007. This remarkable achievement underscores his longstanding contributions to the field of positive psychology and his leadership in advancing research and practices that intersect with various disciplines worldwide.

Ajman University, Greenpeace MENA, and UAE Universities Climate Network Launch the Wellbeing Economy Award 2024-2025

Ajman University, in collaboration with Greenpeace MENA and the UAE Universities Climate Network, announced the launch of the Wellbeing Economy Award 2024-2025, aimed at students, researchers, academics, and professionals. This award invites participants to submit innovative research and ideas focused on promoting the principles of a wellbeing economy, which prioritizes human and environmental well-being. The submission deadline has been extended to February 28.
