Times Higher Education Ranks Ajman University Among Top 201-250 Global Universities for Interdisciplinary Science Research

Ajman University is proud to announce that it has been ranked #2 in the UAE and among the top 201-250 universities worldwide for interdisciplinary science research by Times Higher Education (THE). In its inaugural edition of Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings 2025, a project in association with Schmidt Science Fellows, THE ranked 749 universities from 92 countries and territories.

Ajman University and Temple University Renew Partnership to Expand Academic Collaboration

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, welcomed the Provost of Temple University and his team for a signing ceremony marking the renewal of the partnership agreement between the two institutions. The visit included a productive meeting during which they discussed ongoing projects across various colleges and explored new avenues for collaboration. Building on their strong academic ties, the discussions focused on strengthening existing initiatives, expanding joint programs, and identifying innovative opportunities for partnership that would benefit students, faculty, and researchers at both universities. This renewal reaffirms the commitment of both institutions to encouraging and promoting academic excellence and institutional growth.

Ajman University and Mahidol University Strengthen Collaboration in Medicine and Research

Ajman University, represented by Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mahidol University, Thailand, represented by Prof. Banthit Chesawang, Head of the Research Center for Neuroscience.  The discussions focused on enhancing the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions on the level of the College of Medicine. Key areas of cooperation include student mobility, joint research initiatives and faculty exchange programs. Such partnerships are crucial in advancing academic excellence, promoting innovative research, and creating meaningful opportunities that benefit both institutions and their communities.

Ajman University and King Abdulaziz University Explore Collaboration Opportunities in Communication and Media

As part of enhancing academic relations and exchanging expertise between educational institutions, a virtual meeting was held between the College of Mass Communication at Ajman University, represented by Dr. Hosam Salama, Dean of the College, and the College of Communication and Media at King Abdulaziz University, represented by Dr. Ayman Bahameed. The discussion focused on areas of collaboration, including joint research, student exchange, training programs, graduation projects, and organizing student visits.

Ajman University Celebrates the Success of the Actualizing Youth Mobility Program

As part of Ajman University's commitment to empowering students and empowering academic excellence, the University hosted the Actualizing Youth Mobility (AYM) ceremony, to celebrate the remarkable achievements of the program over two transformative years. During the program’s first phase, funded by the Stevens Initiative, 480 students participated in 10 courses led by 10 faculty members. Building on this success, the second phase saw significant growth, with 1,059 students enrolled across 18 courses delivered by 18 faculty members from Ajman University and its three esteemed partner universities in the United States. This initiative highlights Ajman University's dedication to academic growth, promoting international collaboration, and providing students with enriched learning experiences that prepare them for a successful future.

Dr. Kelvin Afrashtehfar Wins Three Awards at MENA Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2024

Dr. Kelvin Afrashtehfar, Assistant Professor at the College of Dentistry, earned three prestigious awards at the MENA Aesthetic Dentistry Awards 2024 in Dubai. He won accolades in Restorative Fixed Best Case, Restorative Removable Best Case, and Multidisciplinary Oral Rehabilitation Best Case. His award-winning work, documented during clinical practice, highlights excellence in esthetic dentistry, oral rehabilitation, and gerodontology, further showcasing Ajman University’s commitment to academic and clinical excellence.

Ajman University Launches Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence

Ajman University has launched a Bachelor of Science in Artificial Intelligence (BSAI) under the College of Engineering and Information Technology. The program aims to prepare graduates to develop innovative AI solutions, address ethical and societal impacts, and adapt to emerging technologies while fostering lifelong learning. This initiative reflects the University’s commitment to equipping students with future-ready skills for multidisciplinary careers, advanced education, and entrepreneurial opportunities in the rapidly evolving field of AI.

Ajman University Celebrates 53rd Union Day

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, Chairman of the Executive Council, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University, Ajman University celebrated the 53rd Union Day. Organized by the Deanship of Student Services, the event was attended by Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor, along with cabinet members, faculty, staff, and students.

The celebration featured participation from ten partners, nine colleges, and the Office of Sustainability. Highlights included a traditional Yola dance by Al Wishahat Al Harbia, a patriotic performance by Sheikh Poet Majid Al-Khatri, present a poetic excerpt about the UAE, and a spirited singing performance by the Student Music Club, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The College of Mass Communication Participates in Attending the Global Media Congress 2024

Students from the College of Mass Communication, under the supervision of Dr. Amal Badr, Associate Professor, participated in the prestigious Global Media Congress held in Abu Dhabi. The event offered them valuable opportunities to engage with media experts, explore industry trends, and showcase their talents on an international platform, reflecting the University’s commitment to empowering students with real-world experiences and global exposure.

The highlight of the Global Media Congress was the participation of Mohammad Al Kamali, a Bachelor of Mass Communication student specializing in Radio and TV Production. He showcased his talent as an outstanding content creator during the event's opening ceremony.  His contribution reflected the high caliber of skills fostered by the College of Mass Communication, emphasizing the University’s commitment to nurturing exceptional talent and preparing students for impactful careers in the media industry.

The College of Law and the College of Humanities and Sciences Host Awareness Lecture on Child Rights Law "Wadeema"

The College of Law, in collaboration with the College of Humanities and Sciences, hosted an awareness lecture organized by the Ras Al Khaimah Courts on the Child Rights Law "Wadeema," for students of law, sociology, and social work, in celebration of World Children's Day. The lecture, presented by Mrs. Nawal Al-Shmaili, Director of Notary Management, highlighted the UAE’s efforts in prioritizing and caring for children. She discussed key articles of Wadeema's Law and its significance in protecting children’s rights and ensuring their physical, psychological, and social well-being. Additionally, she emphasized the role of judicial authorities in enforcing and implementing the law to serve the best interests of the child.

The Department of Languages and Culture Hosts a Workshop on Ethical Use of AI in Academic Writing

The Department of Languages and Culture hosted a workshop on the ethical use of AI in academic writing, with Dr. Rasha Al-Okaily as the speaker. In the session, students explored how they can effectively and ethically use AI to enhance their research and writing skills. The workshop began with a discussion on the AI controversy, examining debates around academic integrity, biases, and the evolving role of human creativity in the age of AI. Students also participated in a discussion on key concepts of AI and ethics, learning how responsible use of AI aligns with both academic and societal values.

The College of Medicine Hosts Chief Medical Officer of SKMCA

The College of Medicine welcomed Dr. Khawla, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Sheikh Khalifa Medical City Ajman, to its campus. During her visit, Dr. Khawla toured the simulation lab, dissection lab, library, and the Creative Center. She expressed her admiration for the University's state-of-the-art facilities and a strong interest in exploring collaborative opportunities with the University.

Ajman University Marks World AIDS Day with Awareness Session

Ajman University’s Office of Medical Services, in collaboration with Emirates Health Services, commemorated World AIDS Day with an awareness session for students. The event, aligned with the UN's SDG 3 on health and well-being, focused on prevention, education, and empowerment in the fight against HIV/AIDS. The session provided students with essential knowledge to reduce the impact of HIV/AIDS, promoting safe practices and supportive environments. With enthusiastic participation from both staff and students, the initiative reaffirms the University’s commitment to advancing health education and promoting well-being within its community, contributing meaningfully to global health objectives. 

The Architecture Department Hosts Lecture on Bias and Identity in Design, Art, and Architecture in the Age of AI

The Architecture Department at the College of Architecture, Art, and Design hosted a lecture titled "Bias and Identity in Design, Art, and Architecture in the Age of AI," presented by Mr. Hassan Ragab, Founder and Director of HsnRgb Studio. Mr. Ragab presented a thought-provoking discussion on how AI technologies influence design, art, and identity. Students gained valuable insights into the biases inherent in AI models, their impact on cultural narratives, and strategies to balance technology with heritage and individuality.

Community at Heart

The Office of Community Engagement Celebrates International Day of Tolerance

The Office of Community Engagement celebrated the International Day of Tolerance by honoring Ajman University support staff, including cleaners, bus drivers, security staff, and office assistants. As part of the celebration, over 300 self-care packages were distributed, which had been packed by 75 students earlier that month. This initiative showcased the University’s strong sense of community and the office’s commitment to recognizing and supporting all University community.

Masar Career Excellence Organizes "Passion to Profession" Photography Workshop

Masar Career Excellence organized a workshop titled "Passion to Profession," conducted by Nikon Middle East for the students of the College of Mass Communication. The workshop focused on photography, providing students with valuable insights into transforming their passion for photography into a professional skill. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the photography industry and practical guidance on navigating career opportunities within the field. 

The College of Law Organizes Civil Transactions Law Learning Session with Al Tamimi & Co 

The College of Law, in collaboration with Al Tamimi & Co, organized an insightful lecture presented by Mr. Mohamed Jaber Abdulsabour, Senior Legal Consultant at the firm. The session focused on the practical aspects of legal evidence, offering students a unique opportunity to explore real-world experiences and practical applications in the field of law. This lecture is part of the college's commitment to bridging theoretical knowledge with practical expertise, enhancing students’ skills, and preparing them to meet the demands of the legal job market.
