Ajman University and Dubai International Arbitration Centre Sign an MOU to Enhance Law Education

Ajman University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dubai International Arbitration Centre in an online meeting to enhance law education. This partnership aims to improve training for law students by providing insights into the latest practices in international commercial arbitration and familiarizing them with key rules and procedures. Additionally, the collaboration will support the University's new postgraduate Diploma program in International Commercial Arbitration, equipping students with essential practical skills in the field.

Alaeldin Maghaireh Delivers Keynote Address on AI Deepfake Crimes at International Conference

Alaeldin Maghaireh, Assistant Professor at the College of Law, delivered a keynote address at the international conference titled “Navigating Emerging Cybercrime Threats & Enhancing Cybersecurity Measures,” organized by Saveetha Law School in India, SIMATS, Chennai, Tamil Nadu. His presentation focused on AI Deepfake Crimes, emphasizing the increasing legal challenges posed by this technology and the critical need for robust regulatory frameworks to combat its misuse effectively.

Elmuez Dawi Participates as Guest Speaker in ADEK Webinar on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology

Elmuez Dawi, Associate Professor of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology at the College of Humanities and Sciences, was invited by the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge to be a guest speaker in a two-day webinar on nanoscience and nanotechnology, hosted by Bon Discovery Nanoscience & Nanotechnology. He shared valuable insights on the latest advancements in the field, highlighting its applications and the importance of interdisciplinary approaches. 

Dr. Mervat Medhat Presents a Research Study Titled: “The Impact of Social Media Influencer Marketing on Youth Purchase Intentions”

The Research Committee at the College of Mass Communication hosted a seminar to present a research study titled “The Impact of Social Media Influencer Marketing on Youth Purchase Intentions: Case of UAE,” presented by Dr. Mervat Medhat, Associate Professor in the Graphic Design for Media program. The study explored youth perceptions of influencer marketing, its influence on purchasing decisions, and the level of trust placed in these campaigns. Dr. Medhat emphasized that social media marketing is a powerful tool for engaging youth, urging companies to understand trends that resonate with this demographic. 

The College of Law Participates in the 11th Legal Book Fair 2024

The College of Law participated in the 11th Legal Book Fair organized by the Judicial Training Institute at the Ministry of Justice in the University City of Sharjah. The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, the Minister of Justice. Faculty members and graduates showcased their works alongside issues of the Law Magazine to promote legal culture and knowledge. The fair featured participation from 24 entities within the UAE, as well as judicial institutes from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, specialized universities, and libraries. The College of Law’s involvement represents a valuable opportunity for integration into the job market and for enhancing networking with various legal and judicial entities.

The IT Club within the Department of Information Technology in Cooperation with the Office of Student Life Organize Coding Battle Competition 

The IT Club within the Department of Information Technology at the College of Engineering and Information Technology, in cooperation with the Office of Student Life, hosted the "Coding Battle 2024" competition, featuring 25 teams of undergraduate students from Ajman University. Co-organized with Dubai Police, the Universities Council, Zaka Ambassadors, and INTECH ART, the event included two rounds focused on problem-solving and programming using languages like Java and Python. Over five hours, teams were evaluated on coding efficiency and the time taken to solve challenges, with three teams excelling by solving all assigned problems and earning cash prizes, vouchers, and certificates. This competition encouraged students to collaborate and innovate while developing real-world programming solutions in a high-pressure environment.

The College of Mass Communication Students Visit Al-Sharq Channel 

The College of Mass Communication organized a visit for a group of students majoring in Radio and Television Production to Al-Sharq Channel in Dubai Media City, under the supervision of Dr. Alya Anter, an Associate Professor at the college.  The visit included an introductory meeting about the channel's activities and training opportunities for students. They toured the news production studios, guided by the channel's chief director and studio manager, who explained the studio components and operations.

Ajman University was recognized at the 2024 Zoom Awards, held during GITEX Global in Dubai, receiving the prestigious ZCX in Education Award. Ajman University Law Students Participate in the International Air Law Student Moot Court Competition

Students from the College of Law at Ajman University participated in the 2nd International Air Law Student Moot Court Competition, held at the University of Sharjah. The event was organized by AEROHELP Institute of Air and Space Law in collaboration with Sharjah's College of Law. Spanning three days, the competition included preliminary rounds, semi-finals, and a final round.  This prestigious event offered students a unique opportunity to enhance their skills in international and aviation law, while expanding their global professional network. Ajman University's College of Law remains committed to supporting students in international legal competitions, enhancing both their research abilities and practical expertise.

The Center for Continuing Education and Enterprises Launches a Series of Trainings for Judicial Officers

Ajman University’s Center for Continuing Education and Enterprises, in partnership with Ajman's Department of Legal Affairs, is offering a weekly training titled "Enhancing the Performance of Judicial Officers" for various governmental entities in Ajman.  This initiative is designed to improve the skills and effectiveness of judicial officers within these departments. The training is led by Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hassan, Professor of Criminal Law and Head of Public Law at the College of Law, and Dr. Khaled Al Jasmi, Assistant Professor at the same college. This reflects the University's commitment to fostering the professional development of legal personnel and strengthening the judicial system in the region.

The Office of Community Engagement Participates in Breast Cancer Awareness Event

The Office of Community Engagement, in collaboration with the College of Business Administration and under the supervision of Dr. Hajar Kratou and Ms. Kiran Zafar, participated in a breast cancer awareness event organized by the Saudi German Hospital at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ajman. The event offered free breast cancer screenings, medical consultations, and educational workshops led by healthcare specialists. Attendees received gifts, which added a positive touch to the overall experience.

The Office of Medical Services Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop on Early Detection and Self-Examination

The Medical Services Office, under the auspices of the Ajman University Women Empowerment Council, hosted a Breast Cancer Awareness Workshop aimed at equipping participants with vital skills for early detection through Breast Self-Examination. This engaging event provided participants with essential BSE techniques, fostering health awareness and aligning with UN SDG 3 on well-being. 

Masar Career Excellence Holds Walk-in Interviews for Psychology and Social Work Graduates

Masar Career Excellence, in collaboration with Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services, organized walk-in interviews for freshly graduates students and alumni in psychology and social work. This initiative aimed to connect job seekers with potential employers and provide opportunities for career advancement in these vital areas. Participants had the chance to showcase their skills and network with industry professionals. 

The College of Business Administration and BEEAH Host Net Zero Workshop to Foster Sustainable Innovation

The Department of Management at the College of Business Administration,  in collaboration with BEEAH , hosted a Net Zero workshop as part of the sustainability and innovation competition themed “Pathways to Net-zero: Innovating for a Sustainable Future.” Presented by Alumna Almas Muhammad, the workshop engaged students in interactive sessions and discussions on renewable energy, carbon capture, and waste reduction. This initiative aimed to equip students with the skills to address sustainability challenges and promote innovation. The competition finale on November 2 will allow participants to present their net-zero solutions to a panel of experts.
