Dr. Dalia Bedewy Addresses Mental Health Challenges for Women Refugees at Abu Dhabi University Conference

Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union and Mother of the Nation, Dr. Dalia Bedewy, Manager of the Counseling Unit, delivered a powerful speech at the "Mental Health of Women Refugees" conference held at Abu Dhabi University.  During Panel 4, titled "Mental Health Support in Climate-Affected Regions," she addressed the challenges faced by refugee women due to climate change and limited access to mental health services. Dr. Bedewy emphasized the psychological effects of displacement on women and children and highlighted the urgent need for sustainable mental health solutions, underscoring the importance of empowerment and resilience in overcoming these challenges.

Dr. Zainab Shirazi Represents Ajman University at the 14th IFEA World Endodontic Congress in Glasgow

Dr Zainab Shirazi had the honor of representing Ajman University at the 14th IFEA 2024 (International Federation of Endodontic Associations) World Endodontic Congress held in Glasgow, UK. The congress includes 46-member countries. The biennial event saw over 3000 delegates. Dr Zainab presented a poster of a complex surgical case, a case series poster on resorcinol formaldehyde, and conducted an oral presentation on her postgraduate thesis. Her remarkable achievements were under supervision of Dr Anas Al Jadaa and Dr Abdul Rahman Saleh. Dr Zainab Shirazi graduated with a Master’s Degree in Endodontic with Excellent rewards.

The Office of Medical Services Organizes a National Flu Vaccination Campaign

The Office of Medical Services, aligned with its commitment to supporting UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3—focused on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all—organized the National Flu Vaccination Campaign by Emirates Health Services for the AU community and students. A total of 142 staff members and 100 students participated, showing enthusiasm and dedication to their health. This initiative highlights the Office's ongoing efforts to create a healthy and safe environment, encouraging the community to take proactive steps to safeguard their health and the well-being of others.

Ajman University Hosts the White Coat Ceremony


The College of Medicine, the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and the College of Dentistry hosted the White Coat Ceremony, a significant event that celebrates the transition of new students into the healthcare profession while reinforcing their commitment to excellence in patient care. This ceremony serves as essential preparation for their future roles, instilling a sense of responsibility and dedication to their craft.

The College of Engineering and Information Technology Hosts Cybersecurity Compliance and Legal Privacy Awareness Seminar

The College of Engineering and Information Technology, in collaboration with the IT Club affiliated with the Office of Student Life and the Office of International Academic Affairs, hosted a selective seminar titled “Cybersecurity Compliance and Legal Privacy Awareness.” The keynote speaker, Ms. Olga Fleming, Founding Partner and Attorney at Law at Unikomm Limited and Unikomm Europe LLC, focused on the legal aspects of cybersecurity compliance and data privacy. The event provided valuable insights into the importance of legal compliance in this critical field, equipping students with essential knowledge to navigate the complexities of cybersecurity.

The Counseling Unit Organizes "Teaching and Adapting for Students with Visual Impairments" Workshop

The Counseling Unit hosted a workshop titled "Teaching and Adapting for Students with Visual Impairments: Supportive Strategies." The workshop aimed to raise awareness of the challenges faced by visually impaired students, provide practical methods for supporting them, and promote an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Its purpose was to equip participants with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance the educational experiences of their visually impaired peers, fostering a more inclusive campus culture and sense of community.

The College of Dentistry Hosts Seminar on Infection Control in Dental Offices

The College of Dentistry organized a seminar on "Infection Control in Dental Offices," sponsored by Durr Dental Middle East and presented by Dr. Swati Sehgal, Business Development Manager for Hygiene. This seminar aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of faculty, staff, and nurses regarding infection prevention techniques and protocols. Participants learned about sterilization methods, hygiene practices, personal protective equipment, and disinfection techniques. The seminar emphasized standardizing infection control protocols and fostering teamwork among faculty, nurses, and staff to create a safe environment. It also highlighted the importance of continuous education to stay updated on emerging pathogens, enhancing patient confidence in their treatment safety.

The Office of International Academic Affairs hosted an engaging presentation focused on the UAE, where exchange students explored the country's rich cultural heritage and exciting activities. The event included traditional Emirati experiences, such as henna for female students and tastings of authentic Emirati cuisine, providing a wonderful opportunity for everyone to immerse themselves in local culture and traditions. This unique event allowed exchange students to connect with and experience the vibrant culture of the UAE.

The Athletics Unit Hosts Friendly Volleyball Match Between Ajman University and Alumni Team

The Athletics Unit at the Office of Student Life organized a friendly match for the women’s volleyball team, featuring Ajman University against the Alumni Team, which ultimately secured victory. This match aimed to enhance player performance by allowing them to experiment with new strategies in a low-pressure environment. The Office of Sustainability Organizes First Aid Awareness Session 

The Office of Sustainability hosted a First Aid awareness session aimed at equipping participants with essential basic life-support skills, focusing on both first aid and CPR techniques. The session was presented by Abdulrahman Ahmed Al-Muraqab, a first-year student at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences, and a certified first aid instructor. This session aimed to raise awareness about responding quickly and effectively to emergencies, empowering attendees to handle critical situations confidently until professional medical help arrives. Faculty, administrative staff, and students attended the event, gaining valuable skills that could make a significant difference in emergency situations.

Ajman University’s Women Empowerment Council, with the support of Dr. Nahla Al Qassimi, Chairperson of the Council, and the Unit of Student Recruitment and Admissions, facilitated a workshop on Career Exploration and Guidance. Led by Ms. Maryam Alsuwaidi, Career Services Officer at Masar Career Excellence and a certified Career Facilitator from the National Career Development Association, the workshop aimed to equip high school students at Ajman Academy with essential career skills and guidance for selecting their future majors.
