Ajman University Hosts International Delegation to Discuss Educational Partnerships

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, welcomed an international delegation to Ajman University to explore potential partnership opportunities. The delegation included representatives from prestigious institutions in the US, including Joseph Raggette, Associate Director and International Recruitment Specialist from Maryville University of St. Louis; Jake Reckford, Associate Director of International Graduate Recruitment from Drexel University; Rabih Younes, Assistant Professor of the Practice in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University; and Arryan Tandon, Director of University Relations from Simpled. With these partnerships, Ajman University continues to shape the future of education and empower students for success worldwide.

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, welcomed a delegation from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center for discussions alongside other key members of Ajman University. Inas Abousharkh Addresses Ethical AI Challenges at THE Digital Universities Arab World Conference

Inas Abousharkh, Director of Information Technology, represented Ajman University at the THE Digital Universities Arab World Conference in Cairo, co-hosted by the American University in Cairo, the American University of the Middle East, and Times Higher Education. During her address, Inas highlighted the ethical challenges associated with AI, including data privacy, bias, and transparency, while showcasing Ajman University’s implementation of AI tools. She emphasized the importance of human oversight and community involvement in the responsible use of AI, reinforcing the University’s commitment to ethical AI integration in higher education.

Ajman University Launches 360° VR Tour 

Ajman University has launched the Ajman University 360° VR Tour, providing an immersive experience for prospective students and visitors. This innovative virtual tour allows users to explore the campus and its facilities from anywhere in the world, showcasing the University's state-of-the-art resources and vibrant learning environment. The initiative aims to enhance accessibility and engagement, making it easier for future students to connect with the University’s programs and opportunities.

Alumni and Students Corner

Obaya Bezeid, a third-year student at the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences and a Peer Tutor and Projects Coordinator with the Student Success Center, has been selected to join the Student Board of the ENAI WG Centre for Academic Integrity in the UAE at the University of Wollongong in Dubai for the 2023–2024 academic year. This accomplishment makes him the first Ajman University student to hold this position. It underscores the importance of student partnerships in the success of the MOU and demonstrates how the collaboration has expanded its impact beyond the UAE, engaging a broader international audience.

Ajman University Hosts 2024 Student Club Fair

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, alongside Dr. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Dr. Nahla Alqassimi, Dean of Student Services, inaugurated the 2024 Student Club Fair. Organized by the Office of Student Life, the event featured participation from 107 clubs. The Club Fair showcased diverse presentations from various countries, offering students the opportunity to discover different cultures and learn about customs, traditions, arts, cuisines, and languages. This enriching experience highlighted the University’s commitment to fostering a vibrant and inclusive campus environment.

Prof. Khaled Assaleh and the Student Success Center Welcomes Prof. Christopher Hill

Prof. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, welcomed Prof. Christopher Hill from the British University in Dubai (BUID) during his visit to the Student Success Center (SSC). They discussed key educational issues, particularly AI and academic integrity. Prof. Nadir Kheir, SSC Manager, and other SSC Officers and College Facilitators attended, including Ms. Farah Zakut, Mr. Abdul Razzak Dabbagh, Mr. Abdulrahman Salman, Ms. Obaya Bezeid, and Ms. Marawh Fazal. The SSC briefed Prof. Hill on its activities and student services as part of its mission to build partnerships with external entities. Prof. Hill is a HEA Fellow and Specialist for the Hong Kong Council for Accreditation of Academic and Vocational Qualifications, as well as an Adjunct Researcher for the Higher Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan and External Examiner for the University of Birmingham.

Ajman University Showcases Programs at the GCC Exhibition 2024

Ajman University participated in the GCC Exhibition 2024 at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi, providing an excellent platform to connect with prospective students. This event allowed the University to present its diverse programs and scholarships scheme and interact with attendees, including local schools in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Through academic guidance, the University aimed to help students align their educational choices with their future aspirations.

The Teaching Learning Center Organizes Differentiated Instruction Workshop

The Teaching Learning Center organized a workshop titled “Differentiated Instruction,” presented by Dr. Ibtihaje El Senne, Founder of Millennium Zone Institution. The session focused on equipping educators with the skills to customize teaching methods for diverse student needs. Faculty actively participated in interactive group discussions and hands-on activities, allowing them to apply these concepts in a collaborative environment. This engaging approach reinforced practical strategies for differentiated instruction, making the workshop a great success. Faculty gained valuable insights and tools to enhance their teaching methods and better support their students' varied learning needs.

Ajman University Students Gather for an Exciting Information Session on How to Study Abroad

The Office of International Academic Affairs hosted an engaging session for Ajman University students to learn about the Student Exchange Program and studying abroad. The event highlighted opportunities like no tuition fee increases and the OXS scholarship, which covers tuition and expenses. Two lucky attendees also won brand-new iPads!

The Unit of Athletics Hosts Workshop on Healthy Grocery Choices

The Unit of Athletics organized an informative workshop titled "Healthy Groceries for Healthy University Recipes," presented by Captain AbdulHamid. This workshop aimed to educate students on the importance of making nutritious grocery choices. Participants learned how to incorporate these choices into simple, healthy meals that support an active and balanced lifestyle during their university years.

The Office of International Academic Affairs proudly welcomed a distinguished cohort of students from prestigious institutions, including Jaipur Manipal University, Jaipuria Institute of Management, KL University, Mulshi Institute, and the New Delhi Institute of Management. These future business leaders, primarily postgraduate students specializing in Business Management, participated in a dynamic Masterclass on "Decision Making in Groups," expertly delivered by Dr. Gyanendra Sisodia, Professor at the College of Business Administration. The Office of Community Engagement in collaboration with Emirates Health Services, organized a blood donation, engaging 66 participants, including students, faculty members, and administrative staff. The event aimed to raise awareness about the challenges faced by patients and the critical need for regular blood donations, encouraging community members to contribute to this noble cause. This campaign represents a significant step toward supporting healthcare initiatives in the community, helping to increase the blood supply and ensure its availability for those in need.

A team from AU recently participated in the 2-day workshop on “Enhancing Employability Through Effective Pedagogies,” organized by CLICKS in Dubai. The College of Medicine Provides Students with Research Internships and Clinical Electives

The College of Medicine provided students with prestigious summer research internships at Yale and the University of Pittsburgh, where they gained hands-on experience and collaborated with renowned faculty on innovative medical topics. Additionally, students completed six-week clinical electives at leading institutions such as the University of Texas at Tyler and Ain Shams University, exposing them to diverse healthcare systems and offering practical experience across various medical specialties.
