Ajman University’s MBBS Program Recognized by the General Medical Council of UK

In a significant milestone that underscores Ajman University’s growing academic excellence and international standing, the MBBS program at the University’s College of Medicine has been officially recognized as a Primary Medical Qualification (PMQ) by the UK’s General Medical Council (GMC). This prestigious recognition enables Ajman University MBBS graduates to apply for the Professional and Linguistic Assessments Board (PLAB) exam, a key requirement for internationally trained doctors wishing to practice in the UK. Furthermore, graduates are now eligible to register with the GMC, a crucial step toward practicing medicine in the United Kingdom.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas and collaborate on innovative solutions to streamline processes, ensuring that government services better meet the needs of the community.

The College of Medicine Participates at the 4th International Congress of the American College of Surgeons UAE Chapter

The College of Medicine received recognition at the 4th International Congress of the American College of Surgeons UAE Chapter, held in Dubai. Dr. Amer Al Ani, Head of Clinical and Medical Training, presented his research study titled “Do Physicians Abuse Radiation in the Emergency Department?” In addition, three medical students delivered oral presentations, while four alumni and two students showcased their work through posters. Notably, Yusor Al-Nuaimy, a student at the College of Medicine, was awarded the Best Oral Presentation for her study titled “Rectal Cancer Clinicopathological Features in a Tertiary Center in the UAE.” This recognition underscored the College's commitment to advancing medical knowledge and excellence in clinical practice.

The College of Medicine Celebrates Healthcare Simulation Week 2024

The Healthcare Simulation and Clinical Competence Centre (HSCCC) at the College of Medicine celebrated Healthcare Simulation Week 2024, an annual global event organized by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare. This year's theme, "Launchpad to Legacy: What's Your Next?" This event provided students with the opportunity to showcase their skills and collaborate with peers from various healthcare disciplines. The HSCCC also organized the first-ever interprofessional simulation games competition at Ajman University, bringing together students from Nursing, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, and Medicine. The Office of Community Engagement, in collaboration with the AU Library, has donated approximately 8,000 books to Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. These books will be sold at the Al Warraqin Used Books Festival in February, with the proceeds supporting POD centers under Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services. Additionally, the books will be available for purchase every Saturday at the organization's location. This initiative underscored the commitment of both the Office of Community Engagement and the AU Library to community support and their dedication to making a positive impact.
