Ajman University Earns Two Top Ranks in the Prestigious Shanghai Global Ranking of Academic Subjects

Ajman University is proud to announce that it has been ranked as the #1 university in the UAE for undergraduate studies by subject for Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences by Shanghai Ranking, one of the most prestigious research-focused academic rankings globally.

Ajman University was also ranked #2 in the UAE by subject for Computer Science and Engineering, making it a double achievement in what is considered the gold standard of research-oriented academic rankings globally.

Ajman University has been ranked among the top 401-500 institutions worldwide for both these subjects.

The ranking also reveals that AU has attained the top position in the UAE in the research influence (CNCl) indicator for both subjects, as well as the top position in the International Collaboration (IC) indicator for the subject Computer Science & Engineering.

Prof. Asma Al Arab Wins Second Place in Rashid Bin Humaid Cultural and Sciences Award

Prof. Asma Al Arab, from the College of Humanities and Sciences, Department of Sociology, has secured second place in the 40th Rashid Bin Humaid Cultural and Sciences Award. Her impactful research focuses on critical aspects of food security and sustainable green cities. This achievement reflects Professor Asma's deep commitment to addressing vital societal issues and significantly enriches academic discourse.

The College of Medicine Hosts the University of Pittsburgh for a Seminar on Stroke Recovery

The College of Medicine hosted a seminar by Prof. Mike Modo from the University of Pittsburgh, focusing on stroke recovery, cell therapy, and brain tissue regeneration. The seminar covered the impact of combining aerobic exercise with post-stroke cell therapy, in vivo visualization of transplanted cells using MRI, the potential of bioscaffolds and synthetic hydrogels for brain injury tissue regeneration, and provided insights into mesoscale connectivity in the human hippocampus. This event is part of the ongoing efforts at the College of Medicine to enhance medical knowledge and education.


Ajman University and Cairo University Forge Strategic Partnership to Enhance Media and Communication Education

Ajman University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Cairo University, aligning with AU’s strategic plan to develop students’ skills and prepare them for the job market. The MoU highlights the importance of fostering collaboration between the two universities in research and academic fields by adopting the latest training programs and courses under the supervision of specialists and experts in media work. It also includes workshops focusing on strategic topics and challenges in the fields of media and communication.

The College of Dentistry Collaborates with the University of Hong Kong

The College of Dentistry hosted Prof. Michael George Botelho from the University of Hong Kong. The visit focused on exploring collaborations to expand academic opportunities. In partnership with the Committee on Innovation and Compassion in Teaching and Learning, Prof. Botelho led a seminar and workshop on team-based learning, enhancing research methodologies at the College of Dentistry. This aligns with Ajman University's commitment to adopting modern educational methods and fostering international collaborations for exceptional learning opportunities.

The Athletics Unit Honors the Winners of the Fall 2023 Inter-College Sports Tournament


Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, recognized the winners of the Fall 2023 Inter-College Sports Tournament in the presence of Dr. Nahla al Qassimi, Dean of Student Services, Dr. Mohamed Helal, Director of Student Life, and Asma Al Shamsi, Manager of the Athletics Unit. The College of Business Administration, demonstrating exceptional prowess, emerged triumphant as the Overall Champion. The tournament comprised eight diverse sporting competitions, fostering college identity, team spirit, and camaraderie.

The College of Architecture, Art, and Design held a workshop titled "My Architecture Vocabulary" for first-year students, fostering hands-on application of architectural elements. Through creating abstract artworks, students showcase their understanding of concepts like repetition and contrast, promoting proficiency and creativity in design principles.

Ajman University Joins the United Nations’ Environment Program Race to Zero for Universities

The Office of Sustainability has successfully enrolled Ajman University as a member of the United Nation’s Environment Program (UNEP) Race to Zero for Universities in October 2023 as a pledging University. As of November 2023, Ajman University (AU) has been promoted to a committed member of the Race to Zero for Universities, becoming one of only three committed members in the UAE. The Race to Zero for Universities and Colleges of the world is a global initiative for a Zero Carbon World initiated to support COP27 and COP28 and beyond by the UN Environment Program and The Alliance for Sustainability Leadership in Education.

The Office of Sustainability Launches the Green Dialogues of COP28

The Office of Sustainability is gearing up for COP28 in November by launching the podcast series Green Dialogues of COP28. This series covers crucial themes such as climate action, sustainable mobility, and energy transition. Hosted by AU students and featuring experts from within and outside the University, these efforts aim to address the climate crisis. 

The College of Law Hosts a Lecture Titled "the UAE Homeland of Sustainability"

The College of Law organized a workshop with environmental consultant Mr. Tamer Elgouhari. The session explored global commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate change, covering topics like the Paris Agreement, COP 28, and the UAE's initiatives. Focused on international collaboration and the UAE's sustainability leadership, the workshop aimed to raise awareness of climate change's adverse effects. Key highlights included waste management, industry sustainability, renewable energy, and sustainable agriculture, offering a comprehensive view for a collectively sustainable future.

The College of Business Administration successfully organized a Career Day, which concluded with the active participation of 9 diverse companies. On the Career Day, students had the opportunity to interact with these companies, identifying possible job fits at entry levels. Additionally, they explored opportunities for training and internships, fostering comprehensive professional development and gaining real-world insights across various sectors such as insurance, software development, marketing, education, and more.

In line with its dedication to career development, Masar Career Excellence, in collaboration with Skills from Google, hosted a series of three insightful webinars led by Ahmed Bauomy and Salah Odeh.
